since we’re throwing $7500 at people to buy one now, and with all the hoopla they have managed to sell 300,000 a year. Sounds like they’ve filled that niche.

Yes, there is a base of people, who live where it’s advantageous to have one — such as commuting and being able to use HOV lanes in heavy traffic or living in a major city where range is not an issue, and for those people it’s been a real boon... and we’re paying for it!

But even with all of that, most people aren’t interested. There’s no compelling reason unless our ‘leaders’ shove it down our throats by legislative action.

The only benefit I see to electric vehicles is smugness.
