It boggles the mind that Jewish people still vote for Democrat. In my experience many (of at least the ones I’ve met) American Jews aren’t even for Israel being an independent state.
I quit asking former friends that question. American Jews, for the most part, will cringe up and refuse to answer that question. Israelis are the exact opposite. I hear/see it all the time.
An important difference - most Jewish Leftists in the US are “Jewish by culture” not by religion. Fortunately their numbers are in decline due to a low birth rate for the non-religious types (I know, surprise surprise) while overall religious (I.e. conservative) Jews continue to grow in number in Israel.
I've posted on this too many times. But to the secular ones and Reform majority who vote Dem and do not care about Israel, once Israel is gone (God forbid) then Entebbe type problems will increase and US anti-Jewish attacks will skyrocket. No Israel will sabotage Iran nukes or give intelligence info to the US to avert terrorism in the US. The symbolic and actual homeland to which American Jews could go if necessary would no longer exist.
Then those Jews will say "this is obviously wrong, so somebody do something to protect us Jews." Nobody will do anything and there's no place to turn. US replacement rate of American Jewish women having children has not been reached since the early 1980s. But lots and lots of Muslims and atheist socialists. They won't care about Jews.
Try asking The Squad or Pelosi for help. And under GHW Bush James Baker said "Fu#@ the Jews. They don't vote for us anyway." Still a GOP problem when only 27% voted for Trump. Not many.
