Five states broke records for the average number of daily new Covid cases over the weekend as the delta variant strains hospital systems across the U.S. and forces many states to reinstate public health restrictions.
The states with higher vaccination rates are seeing fewer Covid patients take up hospital beds.
Florida, Louisiana, Hawaii, Oregon and Mississippi all reached new peaks in their seven-day average of new cases per day as of Sunday, according to a CNBC analysis of data compiled by Johns Hopkins University. On a per capita basis, Louisiana, Mississippi and Florida are suffering from the three worst outbreaks in the country.

Their customer service is so bad that it is legendary. They are no longer rude, you just cannot talk to anyone who can actually fix a problem. Comcast is awful.

Just think...almost 3 times as many Americans are scared of covid enough to get vaccinated, compared to how many voted for president Trump in 2020.
I’m sorry. I do not understand this reporting at all. It’s been reported for months that Florida is a Hot Bed of the Wuhan Virus. My wife and I live in Florida. We do not know a single person who has contracted this virus or any variant there of. We are both professionals and come into contact with a great many people as a consequence of our jobs. We speak to many hundreds of people professionally and none of these professional contacts have experienced this nor has anyone they know.
Our son, a University student, a gamer, attends numerous Gaming Conventions doesn’t know anyone who has had this virus. He drives for Uber to earn some money, exposing himself to many strangers in the confines of his CUV. No virus.
How is it possible if the virus is supposed to be in a crisis in Florida? Are we and the many hundreds and thousands we are exposed to the luckiest people on the planet? Or, is the reporting over blown?
I don’t care about “cases”. Some people test positive but have mild or no symptoms.
How sick are they? How long before they’re all better?
Who went to the hospital and what was their age, obesity and other health status?
We’ll never be told the answers to obvious questions anyone would ask in any other context. “Shaddup and wear your mask...in fact wear TWO!”
The hospitals there have had more than a year to prepare for any surge.
There is no need to worry.

You probably had it and it was so mild you didn’t even get tested. I think I had twice. I had a mild head cold type symptoms with weird lack of taste. I never bothered to get tested.

My Android phone had lost all of my contacts. I went to Xfinity store after getting nowhere with customer service on phone. Two different store techs tried to fix it, with no success. Finally I fixed it myself at home by going back to my old Gmail account. Obviously none of Xfinity techs knew contacts are stored in Gmail.

Do you seriously believe majority of Americans are disciplined enough to use proven prophylactic’s regularly to prevent covid infection? Sorry I just do not see it happening. The knowledge is all out there, but very few are practicing it.
My local hospital is at full capacity with patients, in NE Florida.
They mis diagnose deaths as well. Remember last year there were very few influenza deaths that were mis categorized as Covid
The only somewhat reliable figure is overall YOY deaths, excess deaths.
I have a very simple rubric going forward for dealing with Comcast: Never Again. They are the worst company I have ever dealt with. Cut the cord and went with YouTube TV last year. We have outstanding internet here, and the streaming services are just better. I think I could get by with a $30.00 antenna and free online services, but I’m not alone in the house. A VPN and a bay where pirates go, and you have all the programming you could want. Or so I’m told.
They inflate the specimens to nearly 40X to make a diagnosis.
Anything past 25X renders the results meaningless!!!!
That's exactly why they don't allow effective medications we have available and which have been in use in the US for decades.

Cases? Cases mean nothing. We are all eventually going to have to face this virus. Some may die and others may never know they had it. What are the death statistics and what are the vaccine death and injury statistics. At this point those are the only numbers that matter.
I agree totally. Recently there was news of cruise passengers testing positive for covid. But no news about anyone seriously sick such as was the case with Star Princess ship last year when 40 passengers were carried out on stretchers.
Acquiring a mild load of virus without symptoms is beneficial, not harmful IMHO. It means body is dealing just fine with the virus infection and could be creating resistance to future infections.
