Debate builds over imposing higher insurance costs for unvaccinated

Smokers typically pay higher insurance rates so it stand to reason that people who refuse to get a COVID shot might see their coverage costs increase. However, staff at the Washington State Office of the Insurance Commissioner said that is not legal and they want to hear from people if it happens.

“An unvaccinated person cannot be charged more than a vaccinated person," said Steve Valandra, the deputy commissioner for public affairs with the Insurance Commission. "It's just not allowed."

However, self-insured companies are exempt from this, and are not subject to regulation by the state insurance commissioner. Delta Air Lines is one such company that has since announced a $200 monthly surcharge and weekly testing for employees who refuse to get the COVID shot.

I don’t think it’s the insurance companies that are talking about raising rates, it’s the woke crowd.
The insurance companies have the real statistics, and they will price accordingly.
They really don’t care about being politically correct, they care about risk.
The left has been whining for years that it’s not fair that the rates are higher in black neighborhoods than in white neighborhoods, and all their whining hasn’t changed their rates yet.

I think it is safe to say by now that when tMotB is around people will be conditioned to be willing to go to heck over a proverbial bag of peanuts.

We’ve not had health care insurance since January of 2013. We’ve saved over $100k in insurance premiums in that time and are 67. We take care of the bodies the good Lord gave us and leave it in the hands of the great Healer, who is faithful. He’ll take us at a time of his choosing.

BTW, Medical care is pretty cheap when you buy it like you buy car repair.

Says the same commissioner's office that just recently forbid insurance companies from using credit scores to determine auto insurance rates which made MY auto insurance go up since I dare to have good credit.

That same insurance commissioner doesn't allow conceal/carry insurance offered by the NRA and/or others because he considers it 'murder insurance'.

What these fools don’t realize is that it is not SARS Cov-2 that will be the big ticket expense for the insurance industry, but the slew of high dollar medical illnesses that will follow the vax. Big Pharma has created a long money trail of illnessses behind the shot, which they stand to enrich themselves on with health insurance dollars.

How much are they going to charge people who have been vaxxed but get covid anyway? And are they going to pay for the people who are being infected by the vaccinated people?

File under “the law of unintended consequences?” Or.. Covid-19: “Tyranny Variant” infects Leftazis all over the world.

Did your employer demand you get vaxxed or be fired?
Did your doctor refuse to treat you if not vaxxed?
Did your insurance company drop you cause you’re not vaxxed?

Then you (and many more) later get adverse side effects that threaten your health, problems that the BigPharma, CDC, FDA, WHO “cartel” knew about but didn’t reveal?

Hmm??? ... could you maybe entitled to a “Morgan & Morgan” opportunity? Tort lawyers biggest wet dream since BigTobacco?

Employers could face liability for Covid vaccine mandates:

Drugs approved by FDA then recalled after dangers discovered:

That would be a big error to increase insurance rates for the unvaccinated since it’s the “Vaccinated”who are dying prematurely.Their rates should be going up.

So by that logic tobacco users, marijuana users, homosexuals, and Mexican illegal aliens will need to pay much higher premiums as well, since these choices result in much higher than average medical care expenses...

In many companies smokers are charged more than non-smokers, smoking pot does not necessarily lead to health problems, homosexuals are protected by anti-discrimination laws, and I don't think illegals generally enjoy healthcare benefits.

This is where two elements of government-run health care are exposed as idiotic farces: “community rating” and mandatory coverage of pre-existing conditions.

people who refuse to get a COVID shot might see their coverage costs increase.

The un-vaccinated will soon be the only ones able to work.

The vaccinated will be hammered by opportunistic infections (like AIDS patients), blood clots, strokes, organ failure, neurological disorders, etc., until their untimely demise.

In the meantime, insurance companies will be paying for $5000 a month medical care for the vaccinated population, (just like for AIDS patients).

The few people remaining to work and pay will have to pay for all of it.

Only after they double the insurance costs on the obese.
4/5 of hospitalizations are the infected obese.

The wife of a close friend is in the ICU with blood clots in both lungs. I wish I knew if she has been vaxxed.

I think the insurance companies will pretty quick get to the bottom of what’s more lethal, being vaxed or unvaxed…
