Stephanie Garcia was scared to get the COVID-19 vaccine.
But after the Post Falls funeral director lost her father to COVID-19, and a stream of new victims began pouring into the building, she became even more scared of the disease. In one weekend, Bell Tower Funeral Homes, where she works, received six bodies. Five had died of COVID-19.
She got her first shot soon after.
“That was a real eye-opening moment for me,” Garcia said. “That drove it home.”
The number of Idahoans dying of COVID-19 is on the rise as the state goes through its worst surge of the pandemic in terms of severe disease. Hospitals, funeral homes and coroners now find themselves tasked with figuring out how to manage the bodies filling their morgues to capacity.

Sounds as if Idaho is stacking the bodies up like cord wood out along the fence line.

However, it does sound like Idaho is seeing a large spike in deaths, and lots of families being affected.
Wonder how many illegal immigrants were dumped in Idaho would be interesting to find out!!!
On Sept. 16th, The Idaho Department of Health and Welfare (DHW) has activated Crisis Standards of Care.
Just went to the CDC’s tracking website. There have been 2,753 COVID-19 deaths in Idaho since January 21, 2020. So the story’s “thousands” is in the low thousands. But it does show 140 deaths for the past 7 days in Idaho so Idaho clearly is experiencing a COVID-19 “spike”. Hopefully they’re at the top of their wave and it will soon begin a rapid descent in cases and deaths.
Friend won't go shopping except at off hours, won't go to her gym, won't go out to eat, und-und-und. Driving her a bit stir-crazy, despite being vaccinated herself back in March 2020.

Post Falls in right on I-90, direct route from Seattle to Coeur d’Alene. More of those vaccinated superspreaders, I’ll warrant. Coughing on the gas pumps.
I’m waiting for some self-righteous mortician to get on the news and say “I refuse to bury any COVID19 fatality who didn’t get a shot.”
There is also a large Muslim population near the Chobani plant.
Odd....I don't recall morticians whining about the dead back then.
The only way for this story to be ‘realistic’ is if the state only has a total of five funeral homes.
Folks should go read the obits from the local funeral homes.

Very seldom do people have a funeral with the deceased. Nearly all are cremated. I would wonder if this story is accurate, or just baloney.
Can you explain how she was vaccinated in March 2020, the month of the first lockdown? She must have been in the very first vaccinw trial? I’ve never heard of a person vaccinated that early.
