I’m 57 and retired. After my 23 years of Navy, I worked offshore for 10 years and made a few good decisions.
I go to school as a hobby, I ride my motorcycle, go for walks with my dog, and live just fine.
I think a lot of people of my generations had some foresight and planned well. This article seems to have an unfavorable view of people that don’t work because we worked smart for many years.

Same here - retired before 50 after 25 years active duty. I was buying land while all my peers were buying new toys.
