Rule 23 of the Rules of the Supreme Court governs Stays. That’s what this was a request for.

The merit case has to work its way through the lower courts, and the mandate goes into effect in the interim because the stays have been denied.

So, basically thousands of people can be thrown out of work due to one judge’s whim. This is a serious flaw in our system...

what are we looking at time frame wise? I hate to see these teachers lose their jobs, or WORSE, take the vaccine because they don’t want to lose their job.

Thank you for the clarification.

I get the reasoning, but this seems like such a high level
case, the normal channels should be bypassed for a quick
hearing.

It will take years to get to the court, and by then who
knows how much mischief will have been added.
