Exactly.

The person best positioned to come up with a "free speech" social networking site is Elon Musk.

Trump doesn't really need his own social network site. Every press release he issues gets posted multiple times on Twitter as it is. He might be banned from Twitter (why at this point, it no longer makes sense) but he exists on Twitter by proxy with others posting everything he says.

Also Parler really had no money backing. Trump Media will have billions of dollars of backing. Likely 10 times the amount of CNN yearly budget.

I don’t fly any more but I used to quite a bit. I was always in Freerepublic or reading articles or watching Youtube videos. Broadcast TV has become a complete irrelevance and waste of time to me.

So many of these start with good intentions. Then they put monetary income as a first priority over the patriotic activism message and add untrusted 3rd party cross-site API connections, many connected with and supporting leftist companies. Ruins it for me when they care more about how much money they can make from the site than standing on principle with true patriotic intentions.
