There is not guarantee that using digital enhancement techniques will preserve the image accurately. There is actually no guarantee the the original image is accurate either. Making that determination would require extensive analysis of the recording device, the software used(Such as compression), and how the file has been manipulated. Anyone who says the manipulated image is always accurate is lying. It may be and it may not be. Photography is much more accurate as a whole.
Take the original image and zoom in on it with photography.

Is this the ADA’s first time in a courtroom? Anyone who has even a passing understanding of the rules of evidence knows that you can’t try to admit evidence of the type he is proposing, where the ADA himself is going to manipulate the digital record in some unknown way, without at a minimum putting an expert witness on the stand to testify to the accuracy of such a process. Had he been permitted to continue, just that step alone could have taken a day as a sort of “mini trial” ensued over the video analysis.
