Just watched this link you provided to Kyle telling his story.
That is textbook PTSD symptom of “reliving”. Many people here on FR over the years have described their experience of PTSD after being in a war.
No actor on earth can produce the automatic facial expressions and hyperventilation leading to panic and shutdown. The Judge had no choice but to pause here.
The defense should have rested their case right after the prosecution rested. That would have stopped this Binger from harassing Kyle now.
The DA is fishing now, he has no place to go, just wants to try to trick the witness.

I’ve been in the Army for almost 20 years. I’ve been places and done things and experienced things first hand.
I was listening to Kyle’s testimony of what happened and heard him break down the exact way I have when talking about traumatic experiences.
In fact, I became emotional listening to his sobs and speech as I recognized them immediately.
The Judge will let the jury take this for the integrity of the “system”.
He could have mistrialled twice earlier.
He could still throw out the jury verdict of guilty.
He was there to prevent damage and extinguish fires. The weapons were to protect their own person.
I feel Kyle wasn’t properly prepared that many of these questions could best be answered by saying he was going into a known violent situation and that anything could happen.
He’s floundering and these questions are lame and designed to do just that.
It’s obvious that the same decision to help out fellow citizens which led him to this fateful event is the same decision behind his choice to tell the world his side of the story.
In the America of the past, those who fought against Injustice were considered heroes. This boy is a hero. His mindset is from olde America, which is what’s on trial here today:

Judge took motion for mistrial with prejudice under advisement, wants to research points made by defense more. He still could declare it.
The DA is just trying to trip him up, it's like water torture, he is going nowhere else with this line of questioning.

You and I both know what this was...partly because our Autonomic Nervous System kicked in BIG TIME! My heart is still pounding after empathizing with Kyle while he’s attempting to describe his terror and fear well...if I keep reliving my heart starts pounding and stomach tightening. This is real, folks. Watch. Learn. Any human being that refuses to admit to this or simply cannot empathize as we are doing is either full of hatred and lying or is devoid of empathy. I know this field inside and out.

Dismissal WITH prejudice means the prosecution couldn’t pursue those charges again in the future. The judge might also believe that a not guilty verdict would be important.
Judge will be a target - Democrat or not - from the left national mob if he grants the mistrial.
Kyle getting worn down here for last 15 minutes. Been worst part of his case yet.
