Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp would be in deep trouble in a Republican primary should former Sen. David Perdue mount a campaign, according to a GOP poll obtained by the Washington Examiner.
The survey, conducted for Republican operatives interested in figuring out the lay of the land in Georgia, showed Kemp leading Perdue 38% to 32%, with Democrat-turned-Republican Vernon Jones picking up 16%. When the pollster presented Perdue as endorsed by former President Donald Trump, he jumped ahead of Kemp and led the incumbent governor 41% to 34%, with Jones garnering 11%. In a head-to-head with Kemp with Trump’s backing, Perdue led 50% to 41%.
On Wednesday, Perdue leaned into a matchup with Kemp, indicating to a Georgia radio host that the governor is to blame for the outcome in 2020. “A lot of people feel ... that people in power haven’t fought for them and caved into a lot of things back in 2020 that didn’t have to be done,” he told WDUN. Perdue, who has ruled out a Senate bid, did not elaborate on his 2022 plans.

I’ve heard that he’s being very aloof when it comes to interviews, public appearances, and engaging with the voters. Not sure why, but it can’t be helping him. He was a staunch supporter of Trump, so whatever is going on it’s confusing.

Georgia has a huge debt to the USA for their lead in the Stolen election! Both Governor and Secretary of State screwed the pooch in their reluctance to make sure that the election was legitimate! They Fu*ked it up for sure. They were probably paid handsomely or were compromised to not act in avoiding to be the initial State to fold!
I strongly despise Georgia’s leadership in this matter.

Trump SHOULD endorse Jones. The guy is a kick ass speaker. Maybe he will if Perdue doesn’t make the race.
As for Abrams, I have a feeling she won’t run, she thinks she should be President instead. BTW what massive hypocrisy, I don’t think she ever conceded.
Former State Land Commissioner Mike Thurmond is the backup plan for the rats.
Thurmond is pushing 70 years old. When he tried to run for the Senate in 2010, he lost by nearly 20%. He hasn’t run a successful statewide campaign in 15 years. While he is the DeKalb County CEO, he’s never had to face a real challenge.
Scaty may want to be President, but she’s got to be elected Governor first. Just for ghits and shiggles, it would be amusing to see just how horrendous a job she’d do. It would be a great wake-up call for Georgia.

I’m not so sure about that. The party base likes her, she’s a celebrity activist now, I could see her being a serious contender for the rat nomination as is, We’re in the post “the way it’s always been done” era.
Another loss (which would be likely if she runs in ‘22), especially after they “won” GA in 2020 and 2021 (which people credit to her activism), would hurt her cred at least as much as actually winning would help it. And if she did win she’d actually have to work hard and have a record that she’d need to defend.
I mean many people are pimping Buttyjug, a guy who got clobbered in a race for State Treasurer, who is too scared to try running statewide in IN again. I think she (even not being elected Governor) has a much better shot at being the rat nominee for President than him.
Anyway, if she intends to run what is she waiting for? Sununu for Senate.
I don’t see Abrams (”more chins than a Chinese phone book”) getting a presidential bid. She is simply too unlikeable, too extreme, makes Harris look almost attractive.
I wouldn’t stick Stacy with YOUR short short let alone mine ;p but I’m very low on Harris is who basically Selina Meyer with a tan.
The rat base seems to luv Stace and that’s who picks the rat nominee but the important thing here is what SHE thinks about herself and clearly she sees the next Stalin when she looks in the mirror, I’m just not feeling that she’s actually likely to run for Governor. ?
