The jury has reached a verdict in the trial of Travis McMichael and his father, Gregory, and their neighbor, William "Roddie" Bryan.
The three men, who are white, each face charges of malice murder, felony murder, aggravated assault, false imprisonment and criminal attempt to commit a felony in the shooting death of Ahmaud Arbery, 25, who was Black, on Feb. 23, 2020, in Georgia.
They face up to life in prison if convicted of the more serious charges.
The nearly all-white jury, which has one Black member, began deliberating the men's fate on Tuesday.

I agree. When someone has a gun and telling you to stay put until the cops arrive, the last thing I'd do is charge the person with the gun and attempt to disarm them. I just don't see the typical "Jogger" doing that. Nope, not happening.
What the decedent did was pretty close to suicide from my perspective. And he ended up predictably dead for that action.

I had read it. I posted in 217 that a gun had been stolen so they had no idea if Arbery was armed.
I’m reading another thread and I’m just disgusted by the stupid comments about the McMichaels and how Arbery was innocent. Infuriating!.

Doesn’t matter if he was innocent or not. The perps did not witness him committing a crime. But decided to chase him down anyway. Here is the lesson: Don’t go playing cop when you aren’t a cop.

They should have just let him take the gun from them. He wanted it awfully bad. We can all be positively sure he would have kindly told them to just “go on home, and I will drop your gun off tomorrow when you have all cooled down”. They had absolutely nothing to fear with letting him have the gun. Simple. Simple. Simple.
I don’t know why they followed him in a truck, when they had to have known about the Zimmerman case and Darren Wilson.
I can’t find a whole of video of the incident without news clippings.
There was an incident on a subway where a woman was raped, and the MSM, police, and news were shaming people for not interfering in the act. So be vigilantes when it’s convenient for them.

What I see is Arbery running by the right side of the truck, not having been shot at and not being blocked by anybody, when instead of continuing forward, he turns sharply to the left and crosses over and attacks Travis.
Thank you. So Ahmaud Arbery was behind the truck, and could have just kept running to the side, or, instead, run the other way.
