The man who turned a quaint, small town Christmas parade into a blood-soaked nightmare that left six dead and over 60 injured is a career criminal who’s spent more than half of his life trapped in a revolving door of incarceration, drug abuse and violence.
Darrell Brooks, 39, allegedly used a red Ford Escape to plow through revelers at an annual Christmas celebration in Waukesha, Wisconsin, on Sunday, but his life of crime started 22 years ago when he was just 17 years old.
Over the next two decades, Brooks would proceed to wreak havoc across three states as he racked up convictions for abusing his partners, raping and impregnating a teenager and a consistent streak of other violent crimes.
A review of his history — patched together from court documents, criminal records, interviews and public records — reveals that all along the way, not a single social safety net caught him, until it was too late.

He was convicted as a registered ex offender in Washoe County, NV Reno according to some reports.
If you dig into this....was held in his youth in some mental facility. Was already considered a nutcase by age 12.

They make it seem like we should feel sorry for this evil person. No. He’s not a victim. He had many opportunities to make a change and it’s not our fault that he didn’t.
The only thing we should feel is anger at the cynical system that lets people like him get away with it, even knowing that at some point it’s very likely they will hurt or kill some of the rest of us. I believe it was the DA who casually said that letting people out with no or little bail would probably mean that those people would kill or injure someone else was “worth it.” Why?
Charge the Judge as an accessory to murder.
It’s worth it because of the fear it will engender. Democrats are famous for this - “I was the one who stopped crime by putting this guy in prison!” switching quickly to (during an election time) “Reelect me or the GOP will let this guy out of prison and HE’S COMING TO GET YOU!” (alternate: This guy is the real victim and the people he randomly and viciously terrorized, tortured, and murdered were racists who didn’t deserve to live! So I’m letting him out of prison!)

Reports are she is sick to her stomach that because she bailed him out so many are dead and maimed.
If ANY of my children were to run (or even attempt) to run someone over, they’d be still needing to be bailed out.
Well, unless it’s a matter of life and death and THEY are the ones being harmed through no fault of their own. Got to be honest, here.
In THIS case....no way, no how, would I have dropped so much as a farthing on the bail.

Brooks likely will be allowed to steal oxygen for decades at Wisconsin taxpayers’ expense?
Wisconsin got rid of the death penalty in 1853.
