It’s suicidal to screw around at a military gate. The guards are trained to remove the threat decisively and swiftly.
Took classes with a young man who was over a segment of security at an air force base and he’d tell stories about drunks coming to the gates and generally speaking, they left them alone but once they crossed the line into the base, he said they’d hang onto them a day or two just to set an example.
I know a cute little blonde who’s a Marine and did gate security at a base. She’s the daughter-in-law of a coworker.
You’d never know she was a Marine until she starts talking about being a Marine. Then you realize that it would be best not to mess with her.
And just as a matter of interest the standard issue guard weapon is a COLT 45 caliber pistol or an M 14 rifle with a twenty round magazine, at least it was when I was in (long, long time ago).
