The Yamal-Europe pipeline that usually sends Russian gas to Western Europe was operating in a reverse mode for a fifth day on Saturday, shipping fuel from Germany to Poland, data from German network operator Gascade showed.

Gazprom spokesman Sergey Kupriyanov told the NTV channel that the company was ready to supply additional gas within its long-term contracts, which would be cheaper than short-term deals concluded on European spot market.
Reverse flows from Germany to Poland - and probably to Ukraine as well - stand at between 3 million cubic metres (mcm) and 5 mcm per day, he said, reiterating that accusations that Gazprom was undersupplying gas are "groundless".

Germany, UK and France promised Solar and Wind would power Europe and Spot Natural Gas would cover any slight shortages in wind and solar.

The suckers refused to deal or contract with Gazprom (Russian) Gas, so Germany screws 'em on gas in storage, and ships it in reverse on Eastern Europe's own gas pipelines.
It seems to me that if the Russians were to invade the Ukraine, the Europeans would not do much because they don’t want so much of the gas they rely on to keep warm and run their factories could be shut off by the Russians.

Cold-stricken Europe is drawing a flotilla of U.S. liquefied natural gas cargoes amid an energy crisis that has sent gas prices to record levels.
Facing a winter shortage and little relief from the continent’s main supplier Russia, natural gas in Northwest Europe is trading for about $57.54 per million British thermal units, up almost a third from a week earlier. That’s roughly $24 higher than Asian prices and more than 14 times higher than gas being sold on U.S. benchmark Henry Hub.
Out of 76 U.S. LNG cargoes in transit, 10 tankers carrying a combined 1.6 million cubic meters of the heating and power plant fuel have declared destinations in Europe, shipping data compiled by Bloomberg shows. Another 20 tankers carrying an estimated 3.3 million cubic meters appear to be crossing the Atlantic Ocean and are on a path to the continent. Nearly one-third of the cargoes come from Cheniere Energy Inc.’s Sabine Pass LNG export terminal in Louisiana, the shipping data shows.
The US economy needs some good news for a change.
Yep, I am glad that they are making a profit, but the point is that the European gas regulations were rigged against pipeline operators with the idea that LNG is going to replace their supply. An idiotic idea to start with.
1,6 million cubic meters in ten tankers are nice, except the annual Euro consumption is 626 BILLION. You can send all the tankers and multiply by ten and it still won’t make a difference.
