Yes, but they usually have different names.

I don’t really follow the names. They can fool you. It’s like the name Patel - one of the most common in India and it cuts across a wide spectrum of people from my experience. I guess you’d really have to look at the first names and I confess I didn’t see this guy’s whole name...

He’s Bangladeshi, so he likely comes from a Muslim background. Doesn’t change much to me.

The one big thought I had was that he had a young man there with him at the tele-hearing, presumably as an interpreter or something. Why couldn’t this man have taken a day to pull up the weeds/growth? Didn’t look like all that much to me.

“It sounds Indian. Probably not Muslim.”

In Hamtramck? He’s moslem.

Chowdhury could be Hindu, but Buhran is definitely Islamic.

Names that are a bit ambiguous are popular in the Subcontinent.

That judge had no heart. She needs to be humbled.

Unless the 72 year old in question is a real terror to the neighborhood, the neighbors should be ashamed for not helping out. That judge should be removed from the bench immediately!

I was wondering why neighbors were not helpful to that ailing person living in that city-it is just incomprehensible to me-and if he had a stroke, I’m pretty sure his overriding concern was not his yard turning to s***

I guess the neighbors not only did not help, but they may have complained to "the authorities" about it. When I mentioned the Mexican yard crews, it's because in my neighborhood if my yard were to get a little unkempt, some Mexican landscaper will start putting fliers or business cards on my door or mailbox advertising their services. Heck, they do that even though I keep my yard in order. I've had them approach me while I am mowing the lawn. Mexican yard crews are ubiquitous in the Houston area, and with the influx of illegals, I would think they are ubiquitous in most of the 48 contiguous states. I have not been approached by any teenage student types since the two young fellas who did some work for me a long time ago.

The only time I see a yard looking like the one in the article in my neighborhood is if the house is unoccupied. I live in a subdivision-sized city that issues citations for slovenly yards and houses. The city is not nearly as oppressive as an HOA, but they like the city to look nice.

Irate judge who berated a frail cancer patient for letting his lawn get overgrown apologizes for outburst and says 'I acted intemperately. I'm very embarrassed'
