Sean Hannity came to the defense of The View co-host Whoopi Goldberg on Tuesday's episode of Hannity, shortly after the news broke that Goldberg had been suspended for two weeks by ABC. Goldberg faced immediate backlash on Monday following remarks she made on The View that the Holocaust “was not about race” but rather about “man’s inhumanity to man.”

NeverTrump and Conservative, Inc. have long viewed the left's cancellation efforts as a Tasting Menu whose dishes they could choose to either savor or refuse. Roseanne Barr? Delicious, let me have a serving of that. Nicholas Sandmann? Why, he spit upon the cross! Yes please give me a heaping slice of that cancellation! Alex Jones? Milo Yiannopolis? Yes, yes, yes! Please sir, can I have some more?!
But Kevin D. Williamson, or other NeverTrumpers? Leftwingers like Whoopi Goldberg? Only then does NeverTrump and Conservative, Inc. say "Take that back to the kitchen; that is repulsive, and offends my very senses."
It has long, long been the case that NeverTrump and Conservative, Inc. have supported most of the left's cancellation efforts that involved their internal rivals and enemies -- the left and NeverTrump's/Conservative, Inc., coincidentally enough, share a lot of the same political enemies.
Perhaps it is because precisely that they considered themselves apart from the actual right that they have always considered themselves the "tie-breaking vote" in disputes between the right and left over the left's cancellation efforts. They're neutral, unbiased judges. They're Switzerland, offering to serve as third-party mediators.
NeverTrump/Conservative, Inc. only start knitting a flag and pompously talking about the absolute right to free speech when one of their own is targeted by the left, or someone on the left is targeted for cancellation. Then, and only then, do we start hearing about how important it is to respect even the views we hate, or about the civilization-binding power of contrition and forgiveness.
"Big shocker when that 'grace' machine gets tuned on, and who it's turned on for," a friend says, wryly.
To be honest -- to admit my cynicism -- I have not said one damn word about Ilya Shapiro because I'm observing NeverTrump's own rules. They only protect their own, and Ilya Shapiro seems to be "one of theirs." So they can handle this one. And if he gets cancelled?

Well, how much as I totally dislike Caryne Elaine Johnson, she still has a right in Free America to give her opinion. I NEVER watch her, but it is again CENSORSHIP. Giver her back the microphone, and let her program dwindle down to nothing.
Hannity had good guests on last night but, as usual, he didn’t let them talk. He kept interrupting them to talk about himself.
Sean’s favorite guests are Lindsey Graham and Geraldo Rivera.
Is he on a mission to destroy his own ratings ?
My reaction yesterday was to fire her... treat liberals like they treat us.
Stand up for what’s right right.. stand against liberal hate...
But I believe in free speech and that has to include the idiot Whoopi..
She was giving classic CRT crap. That’s what her response was - - she wasn’t making that hate up - it’s being taught in our schools.
So let her defend it. And if she can’t then let’s move that crap OUT of our schools. In short let’s have the whole conversation.
I cannot stomach Hannity!
I don’t miss Hannity since I started recording Greg Kelly, Stinchfield, and Tucker. With a deft use of the fast forward button, I can watch all three of these shows in about two hours - which puts me to 10:00 - perfectly positioned to not watch Laura “Let’s move on past the election” Ingraham.
