‘You’re a creep, bro,’ says New York congresswoman after Carlson attacked Ocasio-Cortez in Fox News segment.
The Fox News host Tucker Carlson attacked Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez on Friday night, claiming the US congresswoman was not a woman of colour. “She’s a rich entitled white lady,” he said.
In return, the New York Democrat, popularly known as AOC, said: “This is the type of stuff you say when your name starts with a P and ends with dejo.”
Dictionary.com defines pendejo as “a mildly vulgar insult for ‘asshole’ or ‘idiot’ in Spanish”.
“Once again,” Ocasio-Cortez added, “the existence of a wife or daughters doesn’t make a man good. And this one is basura.” Basura is Spanish for “trash”.
She also accused Carlson of sexual harassment. Ocasio-Cortez’s mother is from Puerto Rico, her father from the Bronx. She has described herself as a woman of colour.
Carlson said: “No one ever dares to challenge that description, but every honest person knows it is hilariously absurd.
“There is no place on Earth outside of American colleges and newsrooms where Sandy Cortez” – Carlson’s derisory nickname for the New York congresswoman – “would be recognized as a quote, woman of color, because she’s not!
“She’s a rich entitled white lady. She’s the pampered obnoxious ski bunny in the matching snowsuit who tells you to pull up your mask while you’re standing in the lift line at Jackson Hole. They’re all the same. It doesn’t matter what shade they are.”

BTW: My PR wife is 17 pct sub Saharan African and 14 pct Amerindian. Unlike here, the races mixed and even the African slave component was absorbed into the larger population. The US and South Africa were unusual in their resistance to miscegenation.

Well, you seem to be a racialist (i.e., very fixated on racial purity and the affects of miscegenation); hence, your specificity re: percentages (which suggests to me that you and your wife have had your respective DNA analyzed).
From an anthropological standpoint, that makes some sense.
Me, I don’t care too much about racial genetics; I’m more concerned about cultures. But, yes, some cultures seem to be more influenced by racial genetics than others. Which begs the age-old question: Which came first, the chicken or the egg? Does race affect the culture, or does culture affect the race? Probably, to one extent or another, both (which is the big battle between physical anthropology and cultural anthropology, both of which I have studied). Ah, well: We’re all bozos on this bus (hat-tip to Firesign Theater).

She is white with a cultural background of Latin American origin. That means she is as white as most modern Americans, many who have intermarried with all manner of different races.

AOC is a Hispanic. Like many Hispanics, she is virtually indistinguishable from European whites. I live where it is 40% Hispanic, largely from Mexico. Hispanics here vary from very white to largely Native American, depending on where in Mexico they originally came from. And around here, many Hispanics can’t speak Spanish.
I agree “Hispanic” is a STUPID term. I had a friend who was Puerto Rican/Cuban mix and the Cuban side of her family would not admit she had ever been born - because her Puerto Rican blood was “tainted”! And BOTH sides of her family despised Mexicans although the vast majority of Hispanics here are Mexican in origin.
One thing I like about Hispanics is that I’ve never met a Hispanic who thought they owed reparations to blacks. I refuse to associate with any whites who believe we owe reparations....
But Hispanic isn’t a color. They can be black, white, brown, whatever... AOC has white skin. She is a white lady. So Trucker didn’t lie.

Exactly and no matter what color she claims to be, Carlson will still attack her policies. But since AOC is the one ‘always’ talking about her gender and race and the white supremacists, that’s why she is being called out for being a white lady. To show how really stupid she is, she is calling herself a supremacist. She is white, Puerto Rican is not a separate race.
