About a year ago, Taiwan Semiconductor said it would increase the amount of construction to $25 billion.

Intel announced a $15 billion will be built, also in Arizona.

Thank you for the correction and update. Think I'll do some research to see how far along both companies are. Someone here mentioned it would take years to build such hi-tech facilities. I no little of chip making plants, but I don't think that long with the huge resources of both manufacturers.

The sooner the better so as to stop relying on Taiwan for most of our chips with the CCP eyeing them for takeover.

Isolationism is a relic of a bygone era. Nations are international facing whether they like it or not. You pick and choose your battles but you will have some battles. If you run from the battles you have to fight now then you will fight them on much bigger terms later. A show of force now turns into an all out war later if ignored.
