Japan spots Russian warships possibly heading toward Ukraine
Fox News ^ | 3.17.2022 | Peter Aitken

Japan’s defense ministry reported it had tracked four large Russian ships transporting troops through a strait north of the country and heading west. ... The Defense Ministry published photos that depicted a vessel identified as one typically used to land expeditionary forces for amphibious assaults. One vessel appeared to have military trucks loaded onto its deck, The Mainichi reported. ... The spokesman added that it is unusual for Russian ships to pass through the strait so close to Japanese territory.

Japan recently reiterated its claim over the disputed Kuril Islands, which have served as a point of contention between Japan and Russia.

Russia seized the islands, formerly part of Hokkaido Prefecture, at the end of World War II. Japan has labored in the decades since to secure them again, recently stressing that it believes the islands remain "primordially Japanese" and labeled Russia’s ownership as "occupation against international order."

Japan has supported and enact strong sanctions against Russia in reaction to the invasion of Ukraine, most notably by joining the U.S. and European allies to remove Russian banks from the international SWIFT financial system in late February.

Japan also froze assets belonging to President Vladimir Putin and other top Russian officials while sending $100 million in emergency humanitarian aid to Ukraine.

I knew someone whose father was a dentist in the Pacific during WWII. He didn’t have electricity but he had a corpsman on a bicycle that would pedal to get the drill to revolve. Apparently they didn’t have a lot of or any novocaine.

I got the impression that no numbing agent was used when he said it hurt like hell but this was before he went to the Pacific. Still in the US at that time. The other interesting thing was that they had to eat mostly beans for a week so they could have a XMAS dinner but the day they had the dinner he had to have dental work done. Poor dentist didn’t even have XMAS off...lolol

“Russian navy is a joke.

They probably followed the smoke trail from their coal fired engines.”

Lol

Before the US got into WW2 my grandmother(1920-2016) & her twin sister(1920-2013) said:

We were scared of the German military, Oh boy were we scared, but Japan had pilots that couldn’t fly airplanes & they had wooden ships sitting at the bottom of Tokyo Bay.

After we got hit at Pearl Harbor they changed their belief in Japanese inferiority.

“Be very aware of Anglo American propaganda, its Bull Shit.”

NOAA weather stations not broadcasting in US. Did Putin take out one of our satellites? Have we been tracking more than the weather?

Those ships would have to go a long way to get to the Black Sea.

That was my first thought.

But if they're heading west from north of Japan, as the article says, they're going to bump into Korea. Pretty dry sailing for the next 5,000 miles.

The last time a Russian fleet made such a voyage it was in the opposite direction and did not turn out well.

“Russian.. you was Crimea that historically yours”

Actually the current position of the United States & Ukraine is that Crimea will never be Russian.

If you don’t believe me type in “US-Ukraine Charter on Strategic Partnership” it was signed on November 10, 2021.

In Section 2 of that document.
On Countering Russian Aggression.
The exact language of the Amero-Ukraino alliance is:

2) The United States does not and will never recognize Russia’s attempted annexation of Crimea and reaffirms its full support for international efforts, including in the Normandy Format, aimed at negotiating a diplomatic resolution to the Russia-led armed conflict in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions of Ukraine on the basis of respect for international law, including the UN Charter. The United States supports Ukraine’s efforts to use the Crimea Platform to coordinate international efforts to address the humanitarian and security costs of Russia’s occupation of Crimea, consistent with the Platform’s Joint Declaration.

So eventually Biden democrats & Biden republicans will switch from a defensive war to save “democracy” to an offensive war for “democracy.”

My take on this they are headed for the Formosa Straight to assist China with amphibious operations against Taiwan.
