I can access the preprint study but I can’t for the life of me figure out how to copy it.
The essentials are one one hand it is randomized snd placebo so that is favorable. It administered a three day dose which I think is a little light given the controversy. I would have preferred to see s full 5 day dose
There wasn’t randomization for likely to progress to severe disease. So I think that’s a little weak. But the almost 1400 participants is compelling.
Like I said it isn’t the greatest design I have ever read. I think it’s sufficiently powered to demonstrate if ivermectin were to be a silver bullet. I think the methodology is subject to criticism but it’s the best I when seen so far because it is prospective. McMaster on Ottawa is reputable in terms of ifs researchers and generally produces decent studies.
In my opinion there is room for either side to sink some teeth into. But as I have previously pointed out these are the kinds of results one gets when there is not a compelling conclusion in either direction.
