Putin’s Russia looks increasingly desperate as Ukraine war nears stalemate, analysts say

With Russia’s invasion of Ukraine now approaching its fourth week, President Vladimir Putin’s forces have exerted brutal force and destruction on the eastern European nation, forcing people to flee and making millions homeless.

Russia’s economy is now creaking under the immense weight of international sanctions and the costs of war, having largely failed to achieve major military victories in Ukraine. Close watchers of Moscow, and Putin, say there are increasing signs of desperation in Russia’s military campaign and siege tactics.

“I don’t think Russia can win,” Kurt Volker, a former U.S. ambassador to NATO, told CNBC.

“I believe it is inevitable that Russia wins.
This is more propaganda…
Also believe this will expand to include multiple nations and last years.”

I don’t know, but this is a likely scenario. Russia really will have to pacify the people afterward, with gangs, like they have in the other regions they have taken. That means long term loathing of the people, which will always be a fire waiting to happen. Plan A: quick special forces takeover, Plan B: take out the leadership. Plan C: Create a refuge crisis and loss of will. Kill civilians and add terror. Plan D: slowly mobilize all of your military assets to occupy and pacify Ukraine even if it means leveling it.

Looks like the propaganda sources believe Plan D isn’t working, but I am not so sure. Plan D takes longer, especially when spring and the mud get involved. Ultimately, the Ukrainians are badly outgunned and out manned in as plan D matures. However, they longer they hold out the more financially and politically destructive it will be for Russia.

People need to start wondering if Plan D fails, what Putin Plan E is.....? Nuclear? That’s what Putin has threatened.

What facts would that be?

where and how do you divine the truth?

***********

Devine in the verb form means to discover by intuition or insight. It is never easy getting to ground truth. Since most information and data is colored to some extent it’s a matter of critically evaluating and distilling it all down into something that passes the test of being coherent, logical and factual.

This is a fancy way of saying everyone has an axe to grind and talks their book so you have to do your own due diligence. We are bombarded with lies, propaganda and misinformation on a daily basis. Its up to each citizen to process and think critically about what they see, hear and read.

I personally dismiss articles that are highly evocative like the one posted on this thread.

Most likely it is one soldiers error, or his callousness.
Or his officer, or his officers superior.
Will require investigation to blame an individual.

My money is on that fog of war, which is compounded of every element of human deficiency.

The greater responsibility is with the nation that put a tank and its crew in that position, that started and insists on conducting this war. You are right, it is not Putin alone, it belongs to all of Russia. Every Russian is partially responsible for this death and destruction, if only through aquiescence.

So, by that statement, America is as guilty as any country on earth. Because we have killed millions in wars not on our soil.

This propaganda is making Baghdad Bob from the Iraq war look objective by comparison.

You're neo-Nazi buddies in the Azov battalion are being wiped off the face of God's green earth.

You're going to look really stupid in a few weeks when this is all over.

I wouldn’t have invaded Ukraine if I was ordered to.

Some of the Russian soldiers deserted and surrendered when they realized what they were being ordered to do.

But not all of them. Some of them follow orders.

This whole invasion doesn’t make sense to me. It’s evil.

I don’t hate Russians. But this invasion is an act of evil. Putin and the people who report to him are guilty of war crimes.

Kurt Volker: ‘Mistake for Trump to hold Ukraine aid’

Volker: Trump said Ukraine ‘tried to take me down’ and was influenced by negative information from Giuliani

And now with the internet, the proportion of BS grows exponentially.

“What facts would that be?”

That the Ukraine resistance has been far stronger and far more effective than ANYONE predicted before the invasion.

Hard to argue against "ANYONE".

Putin has had higher approval ratings than any US politician—not even close—for decades

Like Saddam Hussein getting 99% of the vote every election?

stop covering for this murderous monster
