I have a simple question for Democrats: When do you believe life begins?
The Republican position on abortion is based on a fundamental belief that life begins at conception. It’s a conclusion grounded in faith and values, but also in science.
We know that unborn babies can feel pain very early. We know that after six weeks a baby’s heartbeat can be heard in the womb. Modern sonograms show unborn babies smiling, yawning and sucking their thumbs.
Put simply, science has revealed that an unborn baby is a human being, and voters agree. According to recent polling conducted by the National Republican Senatorial Committee, 73% of voters agree that an unborn baby is a human being.
So that raises the question: When do Democrats believe life begins? At conception? At viability? At birth? After birth? They won’t say. Even more disconcerting, reporters won’t ask them. It’s a dereliction of duty by the mainstream media not to push the question, and it’s an abdication of their responsibility to inform the American people and spur legitimate debate.
Since the leaked draft opinion in the case of Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, Democrats have come out as the abortion extremists we’ve always known they are. They’ve staked out a position that is simply outside the mainstream of where average American voters are.

Why act as though the left has any interest in intelligent debate?
As long as we do they’ll just continue to lead us around by the nose.
When there are chromosomes from two parties....there is a unique individual at its earliest stage of growth in a most protective environment.
How would DEMONocRATS know? They come to kill, stal, and destroy. They are of their father the devil and the works the devil does they do. The evil is about death and so are they. They know nothing of life.
Before that they are merely useless eaters...
Yeah, you can debate morality with the immoral.
I’ve heard some liberals say that the Bible says life begins at “first breath”, meaning at the moment of birth, and not before the baby is born.
I’m not a Bible scholar with enough knowledge to know what the Bible says, but that’s what I heard someone say, that first breath is the start of life.
“Life begins when I say it does.”
Not only does life begin in the voting booth, but they get eternal life as well.
An ABSOLUTE definition of life needs to be agreed on before any debate can ensue.
In fact, a complete lexicon of agreed upon definitions of words and phrases needs to be cemented in before any debates on courses of action or law can take place.
The question is way too kind. Hit them right between the eyes.
“What was it in your upbringing that turned you into a baby-killer?”
Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.
God says: “I knew you before I knit you together in your mother’s womb”
I’ll go with the Creator on this and say that life begins before the first breath of air.
...that is all
The ability to vote forever, and they'll never be cold...
For the purpose of the abortion debate shouldn’t the moment a female conceives be the focus? I mean until the new life attaches to the uterine wall, she has not yet conceived in her womb.
“I’m not a Bible scholar with enough knowledge to know what the Bible says, but that’s what I heard someone say, that first breath is the start of life.”
If that were truly the case, then what in the H is all that living activity in the mother’s whomb, just gas????
To me the “breath of Life” was when sperm and egg united into a living human embryo.
If the rats claim it’s not a life until it pops out, then the laws that charge for two deaths when a pregnant women is killed have to be undone. It’s either A or B.
ok...in that context...agree
I mentioned the verse, because the post I replied to used the Bible as the standard for determining life.
For much of my life, I allowed that gray area to exist. For me, an ovum split into two cells after fertilization was not human life. It was still “a clump of cells”.
Where along that “gray zone” between fertilization and a baby exiting the birth canal, did that “clump of cells” become a “human”? I assumed that I could figure that out, which is the folly of hubris.
As I have gotten older, I realized the sad danger of leaving that gray zone intact. If you do, people will rationalize.
And if there is one thing that humans are masters at, it is rationalization. We can (and do) rationalize anything, including brutal murder. If you leave that gray zone intact along the spectrum of fetal development, people will choose the point where any piece of the baby touches the external world, and destroying the baby is possible up to that point.
And some people will even rationalize that destroying the baby is possible even after the entire baby is out of the mother.
Hm?.....This is an interesting point and would allow the use of an IUD.
