NATO Moves Into Finland as Russia Threatens Response
Newsmax ^ | Wednesday May 11, 2022 | Eric Mack

Reports are surfacing of military equipment of the United States and other NATO countries on the Russia-Finland border. U.S. and NATO armored vehicles were spotted on the border, along with Finnish tanks and armored personnel vehicles, according to a translation of a Shraibikus News report. There have been reports of military exercises in Finland, but Russian intelligence reportedly suspects the military buildup will remain until Finland joins NATO. The report also indicates Finnish authorities are anticipating Finland joining NATO within a few months. Russian analysts consider the military presence on the Russia-Finland border to be a threat, particularly as NATO allies are supplying lethal aid to Ukraine amid the Russian invasion. Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Grushko told RIANovosti that Russia is watching the situation and will consider a potential response. "It is clear that from the point of view of security we will not remain indifferent," Grushko said. "Our military will consider all the necessary measures that may be required to ensure the legitimate interests of defense." While the forces conducting the exercises are likely doing so to defend Finland against an invasion by Russia, Grushko added it represents a dangerous escalation that makes neither Finland nor NATO more safe. "This will not strengthen the security of either Finland or NATO itself," Grushko told RIA Novosti.

Backed by Gold?

Really never could understand mans attachment to some shiney metal used mostly to make trinkets...

That said, if I cant go to a Russian bank and exchange my rubble for gold, then its not really backed by gold

Russia has some captured Ukrainian armed forces members who are British volunteers. Not British forces.

“What’s the black market rate in Moscow?”

I’m looking up the black market rate and finding the ruble taking a hit on Forex right now.

$1 = ₽109.67

There are a few illegal Telegram groups where Russians in Russia are trading rubles for Euros and dollars and they’re running pretty steep for hard currency (cash) trades.

Like one of them active right now is ₽10,000 for US$50

To be fair these are likely motivated sellers and thus they’re allowing a crazy premium for their rubles.

You can’t refute that he has had two nations on his border
for 18 years that were members of NATO, so you claim that
he was patient rather than admit this was no different.

Your logic doesn’t even hold up.

The US dollar is up year-over-year substantially against every major world currency.

The ruble is no longer freely convertible. It's back to being a Third-World currency.

Thanks. Correction noted. Worldometer estimates: Russia --145,934,462.

Source: https://www.worldometers.info/world-population/population-by-country/

This furthers my observation that from a demographic perspective, Additionally, Worldometer states, "The current population of Europe is 748,476,367."

This in terms of basic demographics and manpower to supply a military, Europe should be far more than self-sufficient. It seems to have refused to do so. With the US at about 334 million, the political classes have been running a fine game of "relying" on 334 million to more than support 748 million, arrayed against 145 million.

In this time of media saturation of the political, some obvious things seem to be intentionally obscured.

Best regards.

If you cant exchange it, a “backed currency” is no different than Zimbawe money.

“We’re closer to war with Russia now than we ever were during the cold war.”

You need to read up on the Cold War as there’s at least nine separate occasions where nukes were almost exchanged. Plus NATO and the Soviets did a lot of killing during that time.

Ukraine had a much larger military than Finland.

Look, my family is part Finn. This is a dangerous move.

By that I mean trusting the USA and NATO to have your back. I think the PM needs to step down and get a more experienced hand on the wheel

“Ukraine had a much larger military than Finland.”

Sure, and Russia had a much larger military before they entered Ukraine as well. They really can’t afford to start another war right now, and probably will not be able to do so for quite a few years.

Ukraine is a leftist created, failed, money-laundering state that kicks back US taxpayer funds to crooks in our own congress. Those who are 100% behind Ukraine include WEF, WHO, UN and a long list of loathsome, evil people. WTF has happened!?

"If Hitler invaded hell I would make at least a favourable reference to the devil in the House of Commons." - Winston Churchill

Summary: Putin has invaded Ukraine.

The Russian Federation has always regarded itself as the rightful heir of the Soviet Union. By abrogating the terms of the 1994 Budapest Memorandum, invading and seizing Crimea, and now - on Feb. 24, 2022 - by invading the rest of Ukraine, with the openly expressed intention of absorbing much of its territory, and by threatening the use of nuclear weapons against those who might come to Ukraine's assistance, the Russian Federation has now clearly demonstrated to the world that it is at least as morally reprehensible, reckless, diplomatically unreliable, and dangerous as its predecessor.

We are therefore entitled to view Russia as the full spiritual successor to the much-hated Soviet Empire, and should be happy to supply aid to anyone willing and capable of degrading its military resources.

Regards,

**Russian Economy:
Auto sales fell by 3 times since start of war. Auto production halted, with exception of Orc designed car no one wants. Car dealers have 2-5 month inventories. Will be huge shortage of cars in 2-5 months. Home appliance sales fell by 2 times.

**Russian State Finances
Fall of Orc GDP projected at 10%, but the indicators above point to a much lower GDP, possibly as high as 50% This is where Orc state gets its revenue; state finances will be hit pretty hard.

Right now State Finances are in perfect order. Hit surplus for first 4 months of the year: $US8-10 billion depending on exchange rate. On track for something like $US30-40 billion for year, in addition, Orc Trade Surplus will hit something like $US58 billion.

The real economy will kick in and hit State Finances hard in terms of tax revenue and so forth. So this gives them 2-5 months before things will get somewhat bad there.

Related is 4 governors quit today (5/11). Most important was the guy in one of the Orc’s biggest economic powerhouses. This tells us that something is going on under the surface of Orc politics and power system.

I was addressing Latvia.

I think it could fairly be said that there was no intent
to put nukes or troops in the Ukraine. It was a defense
pack to keep Russia from doing things like it is doing
right now.

“our State Dept has taken credit for killing Russian generals and sinking ships.”

And of course you can cite the source at https://www.state.gov that substantiates this claim of yours?
