BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) — The white gunman accused of committing a racist massacre at a Buffalo supermarket made threatening comments that brought police to his high school last spring, but he was never charged with a crime and had no further contact with law enforcement after his release from a hospital, officials said.
The revelation raised questions about whether his encounter with police and the mental health system was yet another missed opportunity to put a potential mass shooter under closer law enforcement scrutiny, get him help, or make sure he didn’t have access to deadly firearms.
Authorities said they were investigating the attack on predominantly Black shoppers and workers at the Tops Friendly Market as a potential federal hate crime or act of domestic terrorism. Saturday’s mass violence in Buffalo was the deadliest of a wave of fatal weekend shootings, including at a California church and a Texas flea market.
Payton Gendron, 18, traveled about 200 miles (320 kilometers) from his home in Conklin, New York, to Buffalo to commit the attack, police said.

Since the authorities never filed a New York state Extreme Risk Protection Order Applicaiton with the courts (New York's Red Flag law,) the shooter was never flagged in the NICS database.
Well, report or not, they should correct it.
So Breitbart has started capitalizing black while leaving white in lower case. I guess we know where we stand.

Black is a political term that is used to create unity and homogeneity in a citizenry that is actually quite diverse. The Black vote unity is the critical element that insures the very life of the Democrat party
So apparently he had been brought to the attention of the authorities and they acted according to procedures. He was brought in, screened, questioned, tested, and eventually had to be released because what crime had he committed?
It appears people knew he was nuts for years. Just like Nikolas Cruz was a known nut.
It goes way back. Pat Purdy was a known nut but released from a California mental institution and allowed to buy guns to shoot up the Stockton School yard, killing several kids and himself.
We can go back farther to 1984 when James Huberty, also a known nut killed so many people at The San Ysidro McDonald’s, and caused the first demands for rifle control.
Probably the same guy that helped him buy body armor and a rifle after being institutionalized.
When a black grandma poured hard whiskey down her five year old granddaughter’s throat two weeks ago murdering the child, that was a love crime.
