The first trial to emerge from Special Counsel John Durham's probe finally got underway Tuesday – as prosecutors accused former Hillary Clinton lawyer Michael Sussmann of trying to engineer an 'October surprise' when he sought out a top FBI official to discuss an allegation about Trump and Russia.
The allegation didn't pan out, but the meeting itself constituted an effort to 'use and manipulate' federal law enforcement for political ends, prosecutors argued.
Sussmann's defense team argued he was forthright when he acted on his own to bring information to authorities, and said the intervention did not benefit the Clinton camp in any way.

Well, that settles it. Or at least it does for the other couple of hundred investigations that the FBI has conducted on Dems.

Trying to rig an October surprise, wow so hard to believe; except of course, that’s all Hillary had. 2020 Dem November surprise (see 2000 mules); 2022 surprise Dems trying to start WWlll. The more things change the more they stay the same!
But it hurt Trump and the entire 4 years of his PResidency.

The FBI was fully engaged and wanted to investigate and harass Trump - they only needed a cheap excuse and a patsy to give them cover.
And Sussmann provided that.
If you are connected to the Clintons, yes. You may commit suicide two days later, but the Law will not bother you. You can bet your ass on that. Neither will they bother this Hillary Clinton Lawyer.
It shouldn’t matter if it helped her or not.

Sussman’s defense lawyer basically said that the FBI/DoJ knew he was a partisan Democrat, so why would he claim not to be representing any client, like that ole’ Clinton campaign? IOW, the FBI was in on everything on a wink-wink-nudge-nudge basis. Has Durham manipulated this to get the Dems to provide evidence of conspiracy? That’s how this comes across.
