I have read columns with headlines like “Not Just Elon Musk: More Americans Seeking Out GOP” every two years of the past
60 years. With one or two hiccups, the GOP has moved left along with the Democrats. Dems move two steps left; GOP moves a step & a half.
After 60 years of this, I not only no longer recognize either of the two national parties, but I also no longer recognize my country.
I recall Reagan’s rhetorical question in his debate with Jimmy Carter…”Are you better off than you were four years ago?” I think people are now again realizing the answer.
