I’m STILL taking the WIN, Dude! Semantics be d@mned! We KNOW Roberts is a POS TRAITOR, but he still VOTED FOR IT!

Who cares what he says AFTER THE FACT? His ‘paper’ (will there be a ‘John Roberts Museum’ someday where this will be enshrined? I’m not visiting! No one will!) and a buck will get him on the bus...hopefully OUT of town. ;)

Roberts only said the MS law was constitutional under Roe v Wade

Great News and a solid 6-3 decision.

“The vote to overturn Roe was 5-4, with Justices Clarence Thomas, Neil Gorsuch, Brett Kavanaugh, and Amy Coney Barrett joining Alito’s opinion. Chief Justice John Roberts filed a separate opinion, agreeing with the court’s decision to uphold the Mississippi law but arguing that the court should not have decided the broader question of whether the Constitution protects abortion at all.”

Wow. So wimpy Roberts pretty much sided with the activist liberals on the Court??

The Dobbs (abortion) case: The US Supreme Court decision is constitutionally sound. The Court has jurisdiction over the unconstitutional Court decision in Roe v. Wade and finally overturned it. Roe v. Wade was unconstitutional because 1) the feds have no constitutional authority regarding abortions and 2) the feds have no jurisdiction over state abortion laws.

The Bruen (gun) case: The US Supreme Court decision is constitutionally unsound because the Court has no jurisdiction over NY State gun laws. This appears to be a victory for our Free Constitutional Republic, but it in not because it strengthens more unconstitutional federal power over the states. The greatest threat to our lives and wellbeing is the unconstitutionally unlimited and totalitarian power of the federal government.

The decision moved the debate on abortion from the national government to the various state governments. The United States Congress is out of the picture.

The decision moved the debate on abortion from the national government to the various state governments.

The decision moved the question to the people's "elected representatives". It didn't say it was strictly a state matter, and Congress isn't going to treat it like it is. They will look for a single solution, and I can see a lot of states supporting that.

How can you end a right that never existed. The air is out of the balloon, and it hangs limply like a spent...

Does anyone know where I can get actual PDF’s of todays opinion? Not the Scribd BS all the websites etc blah blah blah just the ACTUAL OPINIONS?

Here you go. I read the 82 page decision and was tickled by how savage Alito was toward Roe and toward the dissenting judges. I recommend everyone who wants a good laugh check it out. Very clearly written, no legalese. https://www.documentcloud.org/documents/22067246-dobbs-decision

This was more a states rights decision than an abortion decision. In liberal states abortions will be as available as ever, some conservative states will most likely restrict it in their states, but women who want to abort can simply take a drive to the nearest neighboring state and get one.

I don’t see that number dropping significantly.

I have to disagree. Half to two thirds of the states will prohibit or restrict abortion severely. True pro-aborts will persevere and kill their babies, but a lot are just confused teens who listen to people who say they can 'solve' their 'problem'.

I expect abortions to decline by 33-50% at least.

I am now 66 years old..have always been a conservative, forever, even as a kid. Forty years ago I would have seen the two monumental decisions the past two day, 2nd amendment and Roe as being IMPOSSIBLE. Would never happen. So wrong I was back then. Dispite all the national craziness insprired by the left, these are amzing times.

Same age, my friend. I remember Roe passing in 1973 and I was outraged. I was and am a science nerd and I knew the ruling violated science and sanctioned murder. I expected the whole nation to rise up and pass a Constitutional amendment defining life in the womb as human.

But there was nothing. Rather, the left began the ERA movement, which I didn't understand either. Obviously, women already had equal rights, and although many men treated them badly, that was already against the law.

49 years later, I realize the lack of outrage was the moral confusion of our country in 1973, let alone now. Thank God Almighty that this abomination was overturned.
