On Friday afternoon Arkansas Attorney General Leslie Rutledge signed a certification that Act 180 of 2019 prohibiting abortion except to save the life of the mother is in full effect in Arkansas.

The Arkansas Legislature passed Act 180 in 2019.

The law prohibits abortion in Arkansas except to save the mother’s life in the event that the U.S. Supreme Court overturns Roe v. Wade.

The U.S. Supreme Court reversed Roe v. Wade on Friday in a 6-3 decision, paving the way for Arkansas to enforce Act 180.

The Governor of Arkansas Asa Hutchinson is actually pro-abortion. He refused to shutdown the clinic in Little Rock when other states shutdown abortion facilities during the COVID CCP bioweapon attack. Hutchinson also stated an opposition to a Federal Ban to be passed by Congress.

In the rush to put into effect these trigger laws I think there will be a backlash on some of it. Forcing anyone to have a child from rape or incest is not going to work, if other measures fail then abortion would be the only option.

The question I have is that the Democrats, and to a degree Republicans, had 50 years to craft a Federal law to handle this, it probably would have been a narrow bill, but one we could have lived with. Yet this never happened, WHY?

Congress doesn’t fix anything if fixing something may result in them getting bad press. They keep kicking problems down the road until one day, they have to do something, even if it’s bad law.
