The head of the German Federation Trade Unions (DGB) warned Sunday that major industries in the country were at risk of collapsing if Russian natural gas were to be cut off.

"Because of the gas bottlenecks, entire industries are in danger of permanently collapsing: aluminum, glass, the chemical industry," Yasmin Fahimi told newspaper Bild am Sonntag in an interview. "Such a collapse would have massive consequences for the entire economy and jobs in Germany."

Fahimi’s dire warning came a day ahead of an expected round of crisis talks between Fahimi and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz.

Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in late February has stoked an energy crisis on the continent which is heavily reliant upon Russian imports.

Wont be long and they’ll start the blame game in earnest.

The Jews will most likely become the focus.

What's really interesting is that we know how much American piped natgas is [Henry Hub], what the price of LNG is at the main European trading center in the Netherlands [https://www.cmegroup.com/markets/energy/natural-gas/dutch-ttf-natural-gas-usd-mmbtu-icis-heren-front-month.html] - but we don't know how much the cost of contract piped natgas gas is from Russia.

It's almost like the geopolitical manipulators don't want people having access to actual facts, with which they can form an actual opinion, that's not just regurgitating something the heads on the TeeVee told them.

Seems a much wiser Founding Father once warned of “the ties than bind”. Why in the world would a member of NATO, an organization supposedly founded to defend against Russia/USSR, allow themselves to become dependent on anything from Russia?

I still don’t get what Putin’s motivation was/is with the Ukraine. I’ve read much, but it’s still not clear to me.

Along those same lines, the stock market hasn’t been doing well lately... but if this information is factual and was widely known, wouldn’t we be seeing a lot more selling activity? Is it that simple that this is what is going on?

The real question is. Come this winter does Germany’s national interest begin to conflict with ours, and NATO’s concerning the Ukraine, and who may follow their lead. Very Interesting!

The greens in Germany will love this. They want to deindustrialize Germany it’s being handed to them. But never forget this Germany is always wrong.

Of course it would affect German idustry ... IF there was no replacement available

... fortunately, the Middle East has lots of LNG gas to export, and they don’t play political games with the supply like Russia does!

* duh *

LNG is more expensive than piped natural gas. That’s why Syria had to go...it was where the pipeline was supposed to be.
