What the hell is wrong with you Utah?
They went off the rails when the settlement was young, in fact, before there were even rails in Utah to go off of, and wandered off into a state of Desert.
A good smith would eliminate as much dross from the rails as possible; a really bad smith introduces additional dross into the ore. When the rails cannot stand too much stress, things depart from them.
