HIGHLAND PARK, Ill., July 4 (Reuters) - Six people were killed and at least two dozen injured when a rooftop gunman opened fire at a Fourth of July parade in the wealthy Chicago suburb of Highland Park on Monday, turning a civic display of patriotism into a scene of panicked mayhem.

In a sane world, the killer would be apprehended, tried, sentenced to death, and executed, all before Labor Day.

But before the execution any interested relatives, friends or acquaintances of the six dead victims should be given fifteen minutes with the shooter.

You are right though. I went back and played the beginning again. The firing begins immediately as the video starts to play so there may have been prior shots.

I haven’t heard bolt action. Someone put a video up on Reddit and it was 30 rounds and then another 30 rounds. That many rounds and people and only 6 dead is sketchy or a real bad shooter.

Another source called it a "high powered rifle". But those media morons call AR-15s assault weapons, so...

Maybe it wasn’t possible here, but a common denominator to these mass shootings is that no one fired back.

That said, I’m sure a shot or two in the shooters direction would have made him pause or get distracted enough to safe a life.

Call me a cynic but I don’t believe anything is ‘random’ or the result of somebody wigging out. The Texas shooting has virtually disappeared off the radar now. Especially now that we know the police were absolutely negligent. Now this “mass” shooting... it’s a set up.

Wow! I just heard that the police are assuming it was a young white shooter. I guess that goes hand-in-hand with the SUV killed those 20 people the vehicle run over. How can you assume? This is so freaking dangerous you either know he’s a white young man or you don’t and you keep your mouth shut. But then again If you keep your mouth shut it doesn’t play to their narrative if he’s black.
