The word “abortion” has been “weaponized” by pro-lifers to “raise the emotions” of others, Rep. Kathleen Rice (D-NY) suggested, calling for an end to the use of the word in favor of one less “negative” in order to “have a real conversation” on the issue.

Speaking in response to Dr. Christina Francis, an Indiana-based OB/GYN and chairman of the board of the American Association of Pro-Life Obstetricians and Gynecologists (AAPLOG), during a House Energy and Commerce Committee hearing on Tuesday, New York Democrat Congresswoman Kathleen Rice complained of constantly hearing the term “abortion” being used in a “negative” light when referencing the killing of a fetus, also known as feticide.

“All I hear is a bunch of conversations where the word ‘abortion, abortion, abortion’ is meant as a negative term,” Rice said.

Actually, she may have a point. “Abortion” is too soft a word when describing the killing of innocent life. “Murder” would be more appropriate.

Progs control the playing field by controlling the “words” and the narrative. I’m sure Rep. Rice used “abortion” regularly before Roe was overturned. No problem, “we will run on abortion rights” to win the November election. The polling must be telling them that is a loser in light of the economic debacle. So re-wrap it, put a new bow on it and see if we can fool them one more time.

They no longer use that term at least in my hospital. The new expression is ‘pregnancy interruption.’ I simply could not believe it the first time that I heard it. I wondered to myself ‘Does this mean that it can be restarted?’ I kept my mouth shut though, but I was stunned at such a dumb thing coming out of the mouth of a Physician.
