Don’t drink and scoot!

A Florida man was charged with DUI for allegedly zipping around on a motorized shopping cart while wasted in a Walmart, according to police.

Aaron Gregory, 39, swerved through the store in Melbourne, ran into shelves and nearly mowed down customers on Sunday, WFTL reported, citing cops.

Yee haw! Can’t drive much slower than that.

They can get him on public intoxication, damage to the store, and reckless endangerment but not the DUI charges since he wasn’t on a public road. Don’t know how much reckless endangerment there could be since those things apparently get up to 5 mph but there’s bound to be a lawyer who’d take the case.

I think a few years ago there was a DUI case in Tennessee against a drunk guy semi-passed out on a horse going on the side of the road.

The judge threw the case out, arguing that a) it wasn't a vehicle and b) even if the guy was drunk the horse knew what he was doing.

I frequently travel to Europe. My experience is that the Europeans are catching up with US obesity, especially the young. I suspect it’s the “spend all day in front of a computer” thing.

I went to the hospital for an MRI a few weeks back, and to get from the main entrance to the MRI, we had to go all the way through the hospital on a golf cart driven by an elderly hospital volunteer, and MAN, did she give us a ride!
Zipping around corners, and flying down corridors, it was exhilarating!
After the test, she gave us a ride back. I had to keep my elbows in so they wouldn’t get banged into the walls. It was the most fun I’ve ever had in a hospital !😀👍

Not going to stick. Motor vehicle laws apply to public roadways.”

One of the reasons some people enjoy living in private country club neighborhoods.

Sorry to butt in. I suspect I've had it, but I could still walk into a store without parking in a handicap spot or riding a handicap scooter around the store...

I don’t know. At least we didn’t hit anyone or anything. She must’ve had lots of practice.
