Fox News' decision to ignore or shun former President Donald Trump is "not surprising," roving media critic and former New York City Commissioner Brian Andersson says.
Last Friday, The New York Times reported Fox News has decided to downplay Trump and has not had him on-air for over 100 days.
"I would say they are shunning him," Andersson told Newsmax's "John Bachman Now," predicting Fox News will very occasionally have Trump on air.
"Don't be surprised if he's back on this week just to show he's not banned, but he's effectively banned."
Andersson said he was shocked Fox News would cancel Trump, as he remains one of the Republican Party's most influential personages and a leading candidate for 2024.
"I just don't know how you profess to be a news reporting organization and ignore a former president," he added.
"Murdoch never really supported [Trump]. He backed Jeb Bush, Marco Rubio, and then John Kasich in the 2016 primaries, and then only reluctantly backed him. Trump himself has said they were always against me until I won."
Andersson also cited The Washington Post report this week that claimed Fox News and Murdoch were so unhappy with Trump in 2016, they actually considered endorsing Hillary Clinton.
Andersson added that the Murdochs donated tens of millions to various Clinton campaigns and their foundation, offering the caveat that, as a New York-operated corporation, it was a business necessity.

It may look that way from the Rat hell hole of Vermont but Trump is WAY ahead in all GOP base polling. We haven’t forgotten the 20 steal and you can take your cult inference and shove it. Trump has praised FNC as much as has criticized it. Ryan and the Murdoch kids hate Trump and that is a big influence. Throughout 21 there was a near ban election fraud unless it was to deny it.

That is exactly right and Fox News has joined them.

Wrong. You anti-Trumpers will be the ones surprised (and, deliciously, livid) when not a single Republican candidate gets into double digits competing with Trump for the nomination.
That shunning stuff works both ways! Hope Trump’s White House will be FOX-free.
How is what Fox doing not actionable? Who are these news agencies to decide for the voting public, by censorship, who our candidates should or should not be?

I am not anti trump. I voted for him four times. I don’t regret it,
But many here are in a bubble regarding Trump’s popularity. His folks are going to get abused this fall. They will wrap Trump around the necks of his folks like an albatross.
The primary winners pretty much maxed out their popularity. Do you honestly think someone winning a three way primary is going to spread their popularity into the middle of the population?
You guys are very emotional about this. And you aren’t doing the math.
Run the numbers and tell me how this works out in a general election.
The more things go bad for the Donald, the more prickly he gets. That won’t end well for him.
With that kind of fuzzy thinking, you’ll never make it to “Vermont Captain”.

You couldn’t be more wrong. Trump still gets thousands at every rally he does to help the America First candidates.
This is Fox’s loss. Not Trump’s. Fox was never about making money as long as they didn’t lose any. That was never their purpose. They are there to give an air of legitimacy to journalism which as most of us know is all but dead and gone. Only a handful remain and they are pressured hard to get with the pre-programmed narrative.
FNC is nothing more than controlled opposition to the new liberal world order crowd most of us hate with every fiber of our being.

I’m still doubtful Trump will run in 2024 but if he does I will support him 1000%.
