Florida state Rep. Anthony Sabatini, who is running for Congress in the Seventh Congressional District, released a statement calling for the Sunshine State to “sever all ties with DOJ immediately” following the FBI’s raid on Mar-a-Lago, the home of former President Donald Trump.
“It’s time for us in the Florida Legislature to call an emergency legislative session & amend our laws regarding federal agencies,” Sabatini stated following the raid on Mar-a-Lago while the president was away in New York.
“Sever all ties with DOJ immediately,” he added. “Any FBI agent conducting law enforcement functions outside the purview of our State should be arrested upon sight.”

This is exactly the stance every Republican state needs to take NOW.
DeSantis, in particular, needs to get forcefully behind this.
The future is local. Balkanize.
Sheriffs.School boards. Mayors. DA’s etc...
Desantis must remain in Florida.
Any state that values the rule of law should expel all Federal agencies and close their respective offices immediately.
As a DeSantis supporter in the upcoming '24 primary, he absolutely MUST seize this moment and take forceful and decisive action. The hole I have in my support for him are my doubts that he would do anything to dismantle the Deep State apparatus if elected president.
Inaction here on his part is the pivot that could move me back to Trump.
It's DeSantis' time to show us what he's got.
I think we’ve figured out that real secession is not likely to work. But the de facto Balkanization seems like a good idea. Just ignore the Feds and cut them off wherever possible. States need to assert themselves.
Exactly what do you expect DeSantis to do that would hold up to legal challenge?
De facto secession will lead to secession.
I think Florida, Arizona, Texas and hopefully some other states should get together and plan a way to limit the power of the feds within the states. They need to think outside the box and make it clear that a line has been crossed.
DeSantis and other governors have a great strategy: Do not declare secession but declare the federal government is in revolt.
I think it’s time for red states to do what the blue states did. Refuse to work with the federal agencies. The bastards in California refused to work with ICE and the border patrol. It’s time for red states to refuse to work with the corrupt DOJ and their Snowflake FIB.
Exactly what Sabatini is suggesting — and more. The hell with the courts. After this, you think the justice department matters?
DeSantis’ political future just went up in smoke.
Nothing but a mealy-mouthed tweet 12+ hours after the event.
Desantis will have the same problem in DC as did Trump. DC is a snake pit. Let Trump have round 2, he exposed the snakes the first time. Give him a second term to scorch them.
Amen.
“I think Florida, Arizona, Texas and hopefully some other states should get together and plan a way to limit the power of the feds within the states. They need to think outside the box and make it clear that a line has been crossed.”
Problem here is that military facilities are Federal and I can see as retaliation more BRAC activities which can close numerous bases.
Yep, the GOP either agrees with this or is inept, they are fighting a war against us.
Simple, cut off all electricity to any Federal building. With no AC they will run back north and take their judges with them.
All gas stations should refuse government credit cards, let them walk!
Patience. Ron DeSantis has shown that he’s a man who thinks before he acts.
This requires a forceful, planned response, not a knee jerk reaction.
This is now the only way to go. And not just with the DOJ. Red states have to now refuse ALL cooperation with the Feds. Refuse everything, on every level. The concept is well tested at SCOTUS. It’s the only way to salvage the Republic.
DeSanatis is AWOL.
