two possibilities
(1) incarceration without bail awaiting trial, epstein style “suicide”
(2) house arrest awaiting trial
(2) is less drastic. it allows the deep state to throttle trump rallies, shutting down trump’s demonstrable crowd drawing power, and indirectly, his impact on november elections.
The deep state probably also wants to cut off Trump’s access to the media. Nowadays this is largely internet media. Keeping Trump in a J6 style prison cell without bail would accomplish that better than house arrest.
