I really do not know what Mitch stands for, other than being an assistant Democrat

That’s a good thought there. What does the Turtle stand for? Has he ever said what he wants for his constituents?

“I really do not know what Mitch stands for, other than being an assistant Democrat”

Mitch decided not to make the 2022 Congressional elections about issues. No “Contract for America” or any specific promises on the border, runaway inflation, education, politicization of the DOJ and FBI, wasteful spending, energy prices, supply chain shortages, taxes, crime, healthcare, etc. His strategy was to be quiet and assume the American people will be so disgusted with two years of Democrat rule they will come out and give the GOP a majority in both houses of Congress.

It still isn’t too late but Mitch is holding firm to a strategy that he now admits is probably not going to give the GOP the Senate.

The American people realize the current direction of the country is wrong, the Biden polls show that. However, Mitch has decided not to give them a real alternative. An alternative is a specific platform and roadmap to a better place. Silence is not a roadmap, nor does it give independent voters any reason to believe the Republicans will do better.

In addition the absence of specific policies allows the Democrats and media to define the Republicans. If the Republicans had a specific plan, Biden and others wouldn’t be able to get away with labeling Republicans as racist threats to democracy. If the Republicans had plans to deal with the issues the majority of people care about, the Democrats would today be playing defense, not offense. Unfortunately Mitch’s decision not to play offense means the GOP is playing defense when the other side is weak. If you don’t play to win, and two months before the vote is tallied you are already conceding you won’t prevail, it is almost certain you will lose.
