Tuesday, during an interview with CNN’s Don Lemon, National Hurricane Center acting director Jamie Rohme responded to the possibility Hurricane Ian bearing down on Florida was a direct consequence of climate change.
Rohme downplayed any direct ties to climate change but said it was possible “on the cumulative.”
Partial transcript as follows:
LEMON: Yes, that’s a big area. So, meteorologists, Jamie, have said that this storm could be entering another period of rapid intensification. Can you tell us what this is and what effect the climate change has on this phenomenon?
ROHME: Well, we can come back and talk about climate change at a later time. I want to focus on the here and now. We think the rapid intensification is probably almost done. There could be a little bit more intensification as it’s still over the warm waters of the Eastern Gulf of Mexico, but I don’t think we’re going to get any more rapid intensification.
If you look here, you can actually see pretty interesting for your viewers. You can actually see a second eye wall forming around the inner eye wall, and that’s basically the second eye wall has overtaken the original eye wall, and that should arrest development.
LEMON: So, listen, I just — I’m just trying to get that you said you want to talk about climate change, but what — what effect does climate change have on this phenomenon that — that is happening now. Because it seems these storms are intensifying. That’s the question here.
ROHME: I don’t think you can link climate change to any one event —
LEMON: OK.
ROHME: — on the whole, on the cumulative, a climate change may be making storms worse. But to link it to any one event, I would caution against them.

People like him are so narcissistic they simply can’t fathom being wrong about something they believe in. It’s freaking hilarious.
He also could’ve left it alone...”on the whole, on the cumulative, a climate change may be making storms worse”
Lemon was begging for help in propagating fake libtard news and couldn’t squeeze much out of the weather dweeb
Who watches that crap?
he threw in that last line to cover his ass
he didnt want to get fired
What an idiot the Lemon Man is
And it’s good to see this meteorologist, being the scientist that he is, actually follows the science.
This year, I noticed that not a single storm has been in the area without the screeching severe weather alert on TV interrupting programs.
You listen for what the warnings are about, tornadoes, hail the size of cannon balls, hurricane force winds, rivers flooding their banks.
Instead they have to warn us about blowing dust, frequent lightning or maybe flash flood warnings. Errr, something else that we have dealt with since the beginning of time.
The NWS has to make a big deal about it to condition the masses to "climate change". Pretty soon they will be naming dust devils here.
everyone should stop being so silly
Klobuchar has already said that LEFTIST climate change policies will end hurricanes and all other natural disasters
The Masters of the Universe have spoken!
Imagine if Donny would have spoken about Covid like he is this situation. Because he lived in Florida and “sees” and “feels” that this storm and other storms are “getting more severe” he KNOWS that it is due to “climate change” because he is so smart! When people were taking hydroxychloroquine and recovering from covid that was disinformation. He now sees storms are getting more intense. This is based on his feelings and his personal observations so that makes it scientific. It cannot be classified as disinformation because it fits the leftist talking points! Do I have that right?
LOL. For a number of years now the weather channel has been giving names to snow storms. So the next step would be giving names to dust devils and even summer thunderstorms.

hey hey ho ho Don Lemon needs to go! He is useless.
The meteorologist should have gone into a technical discussion about why hurricanes intensify in the first place, starting with basics like, you need warm water, and 85° is basically hurricane jet fuel.
Rohme is a good guy and too smart to get sucked into that discussion.
Dunning-Kruger effect
