Florida is bracing for landfall of Hurricane Ian, and Gov. Ron DeSantis has spoken with President Biden about the situation:
President Biden finally got around to calling Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis to discuss Hurricane Ian, which is barreling towards the Sunshine State, after dragging his feet on the matter for days.
As Townhall reported Tuesday, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said no call to the Republican governor had taken place or was planned, but that none was needed to initiate a federal response to help Floridians. It was juvenile not to call DeSantis and it only got more so when KJP announced Biden had managed to call three Florida mayors in the hurricane’s path.
DeSantis, for his part, handled the situation like an adult and reminded the White House “there’s no time for pettiness” when a Category 4 hurricane is en route and people’s lives are at stake.

Steve Contorno @scontorno · Follow As DeSantis prepares Floridians for Ian, he is urging residents to heed advice from the same local leaders he suggested they ignore during COVID and praising a federal agency he previously alleged withheld aid to the state bc Biden was playing politics.
District AI @districtai · Follow Thank you for pointing out that DeSantis does not play politics. @scontorno is a hack
Sunny McSunnyface @sunnyright · Follow Oh so you mean he doesn’t blindly discredit and attack them but rather criticizes them when they give bad advice and planning while praising them when they do well?
Crazy idea
Ryan Maue @RyanMaue · Follow CNN is such trash. Can someone yank this garbage off the air and Internet?
Brad Slager: Distracted at the Auto Show @MartiniShark · Follow This is undiluted partisan hackery. First, thinking Covid advice and hurricane preparedness are at all comparable is laughably dense. Secondly DeSantis already dealt with a hurricane strike and it’s aftermath, showing prowess in dealing with a natural disaster. Contorno is inept.
Every year there are hurricanes.
Every year there is the stupid reporter standing in the wind as it comes ashore reporting live.
Every year we see houses in flood water.
Every year we get the obligatory tree knocked over from the wind with its roots showing.
Every year we see boats and cars displaced and destroyed.
Every year we see people on their roof waiting for a rescue dingy.
Every year.
You live in a hurricane zone morons.
Three little piggies ringing a bell?
Two words: Stilts
Take you and your stuff someplace safe like north.
Then comes the blame game either Trump or Climate.
Then the awful response to the devistation by the Republican governor.
It all so old and tiresome.
Joe Biden,Hurricane? What Hurricane? How old is she? 12 I hope !
How is it going evacuating EV cars? Sitting in water with dead batteries I suppose?
This is XiNN.
Calling DeSantis was at the top of Bidens head until Jackie was.
Stand up Chuck and say hello to Jackie.
It’s CNN. Ignore them.
The left has transferred its hatred for Trump to their new enemy: DeSantis.
I am in Orlando. The lake next door is now in my backyard. But everyone was warned for days.
I am good for at least 2 weeks even if the power goes out.
Anyone who was not prepared after the amount of effort that went into this deserves whatever happened to them.
I’ll never forget a scene of a CNN reporter standing or sitting on a canoe in a flooded New Orleans street. Meanwhile a couple of locals were walking just behind in about 6” of water. CNN has been fake everything for years.
We’re probably in the same area but no lake. Power just went out 30 minutes ago. Steady rain & high winds. Lots of tree debris in the neighborhood. Wouldn’t be surprised if tree branches down from mature trees.
This sort of thing doesn't happen by accident.

Jim Cantore got hit by a flying tree branch during hurricane report

Flying may have been an overstatement, it was more tumbleweeding along in high winds. But he did get hit with it. And looked to have been in danger of being blown down the street.
This is just a collection of tweets.
You get better information listening to drunks in the American Legion bar on a Tuesday afternoon.
That was a news actress from the NBC Today show “reporting” on flooding in New Jersey. A classic cringe worthy moment!
CNN is a part of the Democrat party. They are not a legitimate news operation.
Tks, I stand corrected. Still hate CNN.
CNN would do anything for their RAT massahs.
Even creepers play a blame game now. There is no civility amongst people…calling them morons?
“Take you and your stuff someplace safe like north.” Ah yes…north to the land of lockdowns and taxes…no thanks. Even moving north gets you nothing. Every single region in the US has their own special flavor of natural disasters. Moving to another location will never change that. Floods, tornados, storms, earthquakes, wildfires, etc. stop blaming people for where they live, it’s a choice. Air Force brought me to Florida, I will stay in Florida.
