Cause and effect of sanctions: We have known since Jefferson enforced his embargo...that sanctions do not work. We are suffering the consequences much more than Russia is.

Jefferson placed his embargo on the USA trying to prevent an inevitable war with Great Britain. The current sanctions are against Russia. Big difference there.
