Prediction:
Some smartphone maker is going to develop a cell phone that stays powered up for weeks, if not months at a time.
It will be similar to when light bulb manufacterers came up with LED bulbs aka ‘Lifetime’ bulbs that are supposed to last
10K hours. This has not fully destroyed the market for old fashioned filement bulbs, but it did take a large bite out of those sales.

Of course those more expensive bulbs need to be replaced just as much as conventional bulbs.

Large bite? How about the whole meal! Filaments are now a niche market.

I have not replaced a bulb in years.

If they could, they would have done it 20 years ago or recently, but in reality, that kind of battery tech you wish, is decades in the future, if ever. A solar panel which one can wear might be the way to go for recharging smartphones. Just make it 'invisible' but wearable.
