Two weeks ahead of the midterms, President Biden’s approval rating is clocking in at 43 percent, according to a new Morning Consult-Politico survey.
Approval for the president has appeared to climb back from dramatic lows earlier this year, but still sits lower than his disapproval rating, with 55 percent disapproving.
Eighty percent of Democrats and 34 percent of independents approve of Biden, while just 9 percent of Republicans do the same.
Just 30 percent of registered voters think the country is headed in the right direction, while 70 percent things have “pretty seriously” gone off the wrong track

43% of RATS. It’s probably 30% of all voters combined. Although the numbers of college goers is up, I still don’t believe that that many Americans are that stupid.
I know a few. They all say some variant of "Consider the alternative." Or, "Joe's not perfect, but he was left a tough situation by Trump."
Party affiliation is for many brand loyalty learned at a young age. There's a reason that Aristotle, the Church, and the Communist Party said, "Give me the child until he is seven, and I will show you the man."
We are truly a divided country. If a high 30 to mid 40’s% actually think this man is “approvable” we are far deeper in doo-doo than I thought. I realize there are partisans on each side who would NEVER give their party’s President a disapproval vote. I just can’t imagine this guy garnering more than 30% at this point.

Depending upon how bad their losses are and how many seats they can save with post-election day ballot stuffing, his approval may plunge to the low 30’s if it’s bad enough.
Even if they somehow overperform, I think the Fetterman race will be a proxy for Biden’s reelection. Does party brass have enough muscle to pull a very demented presidential candidate over the finish line if they can’t rescue a brain damaged candidate in PA?
