Biden's Ability to Reshape U.S. Judiciary Hangs in Balance as Election Looms

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - President Joe Biden's judicial nominees appear nowhere on the ballot in Tuesday's U.S. midterm elections but his ability to keep reshaping the federal judiciary hinges on the results of the voting that will determine whether his fellow Democrats keep control of the Senate.

Biden, aiming to nudge the judiciary back leftward and make it more reflective of America's diversity, has managed to match Trump in the number of such nominees confirmed - 84 - at the same point in their presidencies.

His appointees include Ketanji Brown Jackson, the Supreme Court's first Black woman justice. Among Biden's confirmed appointees, 75% are women, 25% are Black and 17% are Hispanic - a greater degree of diversity than any of his predecessors achieved in a judiciary long dominated by white men.

"It will go down as one of the great achievements of the Biden administration," said Russ Feingold, a Democratic former U.S. senator and leader of the liberal American Constitution Society, which has advocated for Biden's judicial nominees.

If Republicans secure a Senate majority in the election, they would not actually take control until January. That means Democrats could make a mad dash until then to confirm as many as possible of the 57 remaining nominees Biden has sent the Senate, 25 of whom already have advanced through the Senate Judiciary Committee and are awaiting action by the full chamber.

This is not a news article. This is a propaganda piece praising the administration for “diversity”.

It is junk.

The reality is that because Biden is not actually in charge, the most communist left is filling our judiciary with like-minded communists. It will take 2 decades (at least) to clean house and restore sanity.

Meanwhile, expect some insane rulings in those 2 decades.

Let’s say the GOP takes the Senate. Then they could block Biden’s more radical judicial appointees.

But they probably won’t. There’d be enough “go along to get along” Republicans to vote with the Democrats. Sure, a couple of the most radical Biden appointees won’t make it. But most will sail right through.

Unfortunately, it’s not conservatives vs. liberals. It’s conservatives vs. liberals and the GOPe.

If Fetterman loses his seat, then Joe could still nominate him for the U.S. Supreme Court during his lame duck session, should an opening arise.

What a fantastic achievement. Putting an affirmative action leftist lawyer on the Supreme Court. And a woman (well, maybe) who cannot define what a woman is. Bravo Brandon!!!

Actually, it is a documentation of how obsessive compulsive people’s brains “work”. It reads like a written psychological examination!

Biden has had 84 federal judges confirmed so far.

Of those:
1 Supreme Court Justice
25 Circuit Court Judges
58 District Court Judges.

Its bad and Democrats have been busy in the 2 years they’ve had but if the RINOs in the Senate can be pressured to get on board, the Republicans can block Biden from any further judicial appointments after the midterms. Even the Turtle should be on board with that. About half of Biden’s nominees would be left stranded as well as any seats that open up in the next two years. Then Trump could counter balance Biden’s appointments in his next term rather quickly.

I dunno. The Turtle was actually good about blocking judicial appointments for Obama in his last two years. The RINOs might actually get on board with blocking Biden’s judicial appointments.

I’m confident we are going to have a Murkowski (should she win) and Pierre Delecto proof Republican majority in the Senate...ie more than 52.

Actually , one of the administrations most destructive long term achievements!

I foresee this happening on a wide range of issues besides judicial appointments during the lame duck session. The lame ducks both Rino and democrat will have nothing to lose. And whatever is done cannot be undone until we regain the WH.
