Fox ^ | Nov 5 2022 | Fox

Former President Donald Trump took a swipe at Florida Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis at a rally on Saturday night referring to him as "Ron DeSanctimonious" in what could be a sign of growing tension between the two potential presidential candidates.

Well for the ignorant, try reading what he said. Did Reagan say except for sleazy backstabbing RINOs? You tell me.

First, even if the 2020 election victory was stolen from Trump that doesn't mean he's "owed" the 2024 election. The "steal" is irrelevant at this point except to the extent we're talking about measures to secure future elections.

Man, you duck, dodge and dance a lot...Did they steal the election from Trump or not Chin?

Maybe, but there's no way to know for sure. There was cheating in terms of ballot box stuffing, absentee ballots, etc., and more so in than in prior elections. But the very nature of such cheating means that we don't know how all those ballots were actually marked. We can speculate that they were all Biden votes, but we can't really know. There's a lot of really crappy arguments advanced in terms of the "steal" argument, like people pointing at the different sizes of the rallies and saying there's no way Biden could have won. That's just dumb in my view.

I don't think the election of 2020 was reliable, and elections won't be reliable until we get rid of large scale absentee voting, and insist on vote counting being complete relatively quickly after polls close.

This is what probably caused DJT to give DeSantis the nrw nickname. https://youtu.be/o8jz7Cwjo3c

DeSantis is setting up to run.

If DeSantis runs in 2024, he'll be doing it as the GOP establishment tool to undermine the entire MAGA movement in the party.

He's trying to keep the Romeny/Ryan wing of the party happy. It’s becoming more clear.

He really has no choice. Comparatively speaking, DeSantis is flat broke and has no future in politics unless he plays Step-N-Fetchit for the money behind the Republican Party.

If he’s smart, he’d be the king-maker.

Anyone who thinks Trump could be a "king-maker" is delusional. The guy is only a political figure because he has an enormous core of dedicated supporters who think he is going to run again for President (I do, too).

The moment he decides he doesn't want to run for office again, he goes back to being a TV clown who has ZERO political influence.

DeSantis was very much aligned with Paul Ryan when he was in the House

DeSantis was no friend of Paul RINO. DeSantis was in fact a member of the Freedom Caucus in the House.

Reagan commandment

Stupidest thing ever from Reagan. Trump's greatest gift was pulling down his pants and taking a huge dump on the Bushes and Cheney's. Got an entire party to think differently about war.

That's probably a good bet.

Someone posted a link to that ad here, and many FReepers were falling all over themselves praising it.

Me? I thought it was awful.

Kari Lake has no business running for governor in 2022 if her intention is to be a VP candidate in 2024.

If I am placing odds on a VP pick for Trump in 2024 right now, it would be Kristi Noem.

Yea, I’m sure if they get him elected he’ll owe it all to the people.

You're going back to a time when lawyers were respected -- and respectable -- professionals.

In 2022, most lawyers occupy a place in the public view somewhere down with arsonists and child molesters.

Trump needed that ego-edge to get in, in 2016.

Once he got the presidency, acting more presidential would have helped a lot.

If I was his advisor, I'd have asked him to make a post on Twitter. The post would have expressed that he respects the dignity of his office, and would promise to use Twitter only to announce his policy intiatives and the results thereof.

He could have channeled his attacks through allies on Twitter: Mark Meadows, Steve Bannon, and the like.

The moment he decides he doesn't want to run for office again

The Republican party will be dead on the floor. The same place it was before Trump came down the escalator.

Hear, hear. Yes, that argument re: rally size is pretty ignorant, when you consider that the base that voted for Biden would not have attended a rally given the decisions they made re: COVID-19.

I think Trump is sending a shot across DeSantis bow. 2024 is not his time yet.

A bit over the top. Trump just swatted him down tonight. DeSanctimonious… pretty much.
I still admire Ron…he needs to dial it back..he is not Jesus.
