With House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) facing a more turbulent road to the speakership after Republicans’ lackluster gains on election night, some Democrats argue that attempting to strike a deal with the California Republican in exchange for speaker votes on the floor could be beneficial as other Democrats float attempting to nominate an alternative GOP choice like outgoing Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) to serve in the role.

Anybody that brings back Liz Cheney to congress or anywhere else, in any capacity, will automatically become public enemy number one for republicans.

McCarthy had better laugh in the faces of any democrats that would make such a suggestion.

"Lackluster gains"..."strike a deal"..."work across the aisle"..."cash out on Wall Street"

Frak straight off. Every single one of you.

Amazing how long the JoeTatoe's coattails are when the DNC doesn't have to pay for 81 million top-o-the-ticket presidential election votes...

I keep hearing about a narrow majority but almost daily it seems more and more races are called for the GOP.

McCarthy is bluffing to whip his GOPers in line. Transparent.

.
It seems like the Swamp sets things up for incumbents and to consolidate power.

I doubt any maneuver against Leadership is successful.

System is setup to protect the old guard and useless bureaucrats.

Never happen - most of the caucus and GOP voters in general would rightly rebel against her. She’s the Republican Fredo at this point.

McCarthy wants the gig, but Ds think he’d forfeit it to give it Liz Cheney.

Ds haven’t regained an ounce of sanity since losing 1 or 2 gavels. Jeez

Who will vote for speaker? Just Republicans? Or the entire House?

If it’s the entire House, the Democrats will allow just enough Dems to keep McCarthy in the position. They know what they can get away with, with McCarthy being in the position.

Anyone other than another RINO is a wild card.

For sh*ts and giggles, someone in the House should leak that they’ve been talking to Pres Trump being in the running. I think Pres Trump would go along with it, just for laughs, and watch the Establishment lose their minds.

New CNN numbers.

Senate is still 48/49 GOP.

House is now 197/211 GOP.

There’s 2 left in the Senate.

27 left in the House.

One way to lose in 2024 would be to bow down to the Bush/Cheney cabal and make Liz Cheney the speaker of the House. Is the first item on the GOP’s list when they take the majority in the House or Senate, to surrender to the left and give them what they want? The media is working hard to move the GOP further left, much as they have done for decades. Apparently, that strategy works very well.

Democrats wouldn’t be offering a deal of any kind if they were sure McCarthy would tell them to take a hike. That’s what RINOS do. They stab their constituents in the back...over and over. Once they get what they want, like your money and your vote, they pretend you don’t exist until the next election cycle rolls around.
