Police in Moscow, Idaho, tried to calm growing community concerns Wednesday about the killings of four University of Idaho students – even as police said they did not have a suspect in custody and declined to provide the public further information.
“We hear you, and we understand your fears,” the Moscow Police Department said in a news release. “We want you to know that we, like you, have been devastated and distressed by these young lives that were cut short needlessly.
“We determined early in the investigation that we do not believe there is an ongoing threat for community members. Evidence indicates that this was a targeted attack.”
That evidence has not been shared with the public, and police said they have shared everything they can without compromising the investigation. Police also said they hope to have more information Wednesday, and a press conference is scheduled for the afternoon.
The statement comes days after the four college students were found dead in an off-campus residence. No weapons have been found but police said preliminary information led them to believe an “edged weapon” like a knife was used in the quadruple homicide.

The father of one of the victims issued a statement Wednesday calling on police to release further information about the killings.
“There is a lack of information from the University of Idaho and the local police, which only fuels false rumors and innuendo in the press and social media,” Jim Chapin, the father of Ethan Chapin, said in the statement...

Bingo That’s my guess also except it was the two blondes. They both worked at the same restaurant. I am guessing a busboy or kitchen worker probably from another “culture” and of lower social status.

When I first heard this, I thought it was a murder-suicide. I guess the Boise cops are a little more relaxed about mass murder than most other people.
I assumed the same as well but several news stories now have taken the pains to make it clear that all four were homicide victims.
On September 12, a young man threatened other students with a knife, according to a police report.
Maybe the police have identified him, and maybe he’s the suspect, and they’re waiting for forensics?
And the NY Post now reports law enforcement looking for a "mystery man" seen in the vicinity of the victims at a food truck the night they were murdered.
It seems increasingly likely that local law enforcement is grasping at straws while also trying not to panic their quiet little college town.
The latest: They have traced the movements of the victims.
The two blondes were in a bar until about 1 a.m. Then they stopped at a food truck a little later, right downtown.
A suspicious guy was seen watching them.
There were many witnesses around, all on videotape. Cops are tracking them down to get their statements.
....too many young guys these days are raised by one parent and are just insecure, whiny and flaky (the Uvalde perp comes to mind and that scumbag who shot Reagan).
I predict it was a jilted male with a massive anger management problem who just lost it (after being told to buzz off by the one of the attractive girls) and just went ballistic.
Maybe so, plus colleges like to keep crime hush-hush to protect their reputations.
Now police are reporting that two other roommates were in the house and not hurt. ???
And police are now saying they “cannot say there is no threat to the community.”

The rumor is that all four kids had their throats slit ear to ear. This accounts for the large volume of blood, so much that it dripped down three floors from the upstairs bedrooms.
Whoever did this is a maniac, and will do it again if not apprehended soon.
They are hoping that forensics will find some of his dna left behind, and maybe he is in the system.
Young men today watch way too much porn. They've grown up with it and it's been a part of their lives for as long as they can remember.
Too many of these men are frustrated, believing that internet porn represents an accurate display of normal sexual habits. All these dudes on PornHub are having so much sex with all these girls and they're not having sex with anyone so there must be something wrong with them.
It feeds into a cycle, "No one is having sex with me so I must be a loser and if I'm a loser, I'm going to make people remember me!"
They even had a word for it now, "Incel".
But "Incels" are nothing new. When I was in college 30 years ago, we just called it going through a dry spell. Of course, our brains weren't so saturated in porn, we understood that "dry spells" were not abnormal and neither were we. They just happened.
Nothing about this case is more bizarre than that. Two other people in the house when these murders took place. They are unharmed. Were they passed out from partying? Because this apparently happend between 2-5 am. Did they not wake up til noon when someone (police won’t say who) called 911 to report “an unconcious person”. Unconscious??? 4 dead, brutally murdered with blood everywhere and someone is “unconcious”???
The news conference was unsettling. The chief admitted he should have gone before press sooner...but..

Good point(no pun intended). He was probably known by them.....started killing them when they were drunk, high, or sleeping...
That’s probably why cops are saying targeted attack and no public worries..my humble guess.
Boise and Moscow are hundreds of miles apart.
Idaho’s border with Washington and Oregon curses their very lives!
