My position is that the more economically troubled the economy is, the closer to real estate, commodities, and metals you should go.

Unless we’ve gone Mad Max, in which case it does not matter, you need to invest in things that people will use no matter how bad things get. I haven’t bought Word since 2007, so is Microsoft really that guaranteed of a stock, for example?
