I don’t think he was calling for the suspension of the Constitution. But it was a stupid thing to say. There is no one with the authority to simply overturn an election and appoint the losing candidate President.
Only if one is so politically incorrect as to challenge the result. Charges of serious, and often obvious election violations emerged before, during and immediately after the election. The liberal mantra from the outset was that any claim was a falsehood, a lie.
There is no one with the authority to simply overturn an election and appoint the losing candidate President.
That, in the most polite sense is a myth - until the moment the gavel fell on the Jan 6 Special Session there was an abundance of Constitutional and statutory authority for the Congress to correct what it found to be "irregularities" and certify the candidate who received valid certificates. There was a reason for the Jan6 riot.
There is no provision in the Constitution for a contested, stolen election, no redo or judicial redress.
“There is no one with the authority to simply overturn an election and appoint the losing candidate President.”
But yet that’s exactly what they did when they appointed Biden.
Start the clock until Trumpye’s next dramatically stupid, totally avoidable, self-own.
He did not call for suspension of the constitution. He called for termination of the rules, regulations and articles found in the Constitution. Termination, not suspension.
