Jon Meacham: Mock Me, But Biden Has Handled Ukraine Crisis With 'Immense Skill'
NewsBusters ^ | Mark Finkelstein

Okay, Jon Meacham, we're going to take up your invitation, and mock you, you shameless hack!

On today's Morning Joe, discussing Ukrainian President Zelensky's visit to D.C. today, Meacham said:

"I think President Biden has led with immense skill throughout this crisis. It's reminiscent of the senior President Bush during the first Gulf War, and then back to the great World War II leadership. And I say that without, people can mock that, perhaps, but David [Ignatius] can check me on it.

a) Joe Biden hasn't handled anything in years. He's a senile sock puppet of those who erected him;

b) the cabal that elected him consists of the same Obama-era wankers of Syrian "red line" fame who ooze weakness like a leaky toilet;

c) as a consequence Biden's "election" is responsible for both the fiasco in Afghanistan and Putin's assault on Ukraine.

If Trump had remained in office, there would have been no Ukraine war.

LOL Not much else to say for what must be one of the greatest failed attempts at gaslighting in history.

My mother, bless her heart, bought me a book on Thomas Jefferson written by this buffoon. I actually read it, as bad as I thought it would be.

Reminds me of Joe crowing about lowering gas prices and inflation. They are only as high as they are because of his administration ,so even if they are slightly lower than their all time high it’s still his fault in the first place. If Trump “officially” won than there would be no war in the Ukraine. Joe’s handing of the situation is already a disaster that has cost 1000s of lives and billions of dollars

it says Presidential Historian on the screen cap there. I guess Biden speechwriter would have made him look a tad partisan.

The only guy I hear talking like a WW2 strategist is Doug Macgregor and being called a Putin shill by those who don’t like the message

We need to question their premise more often like that.

What crisis?

I immediately saw “Morning Joe” (or “Morning Spew”) and I knew it would be leftist propaganda.

Who cares what a Presidential historian has to say. It is a typical Democrat response ... spend billions of dollars (buy defense stocks). What genius does it take to ship billions to a foreign country??

“Throw money at Ukraine, then go back to bed” isn’t “handling it”.

a) By invading Ukraine and starting another war of aggression in Europe, Russia definitely made it in US interests to stop its invasion. As far a corruption goes, Ukraine is as white as the driven snow compared to Moscow. Romania and Bulgaria are probably even more corrupt and they are in the EU and NATO. If there's any corruption problem with Ukraine and the US, the problem lies in DC not Kiev.

b) Ukraine is hardly persecuting the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. There is a Ukrainian Orthodox Church that claims to be autocephalus but is not recognized as independent by other Orthodox churches due to Russian money. Although in communion with other Orthodox churches since 2018, the only recognized Orthodox Church is the Russian Orthodox Church which is little more than a tool of Moscow. It is being investigated as acting as such. There is also the Uniate Church in Western Ukraine which is Orthodox in organization and liturgy but recognizes the Pope as head of the Church. There is also a small Catholic minority and small Evangelical churches. So the only Orthodox Church with problems is the one that is little more than an intel operation for Moscow.

c) What exactly did the US or Ukraine do to provoke a war of aggression? Russia is the only party to do so, starting first in 2014 and again this year. To claim that Ukraine's attempt to join NATO or the EU is a "provocation" is simply begging the question because it assumes that Moscow is right to claim a "sphere of interest" in its "near abroad," something the US has rejected since the USSR disintegrated not only in Ukraine but also in the Caucasus and in the Balkans.

Given what happened in Kabul last year Ukraine is better off without Biden.

Exactly. From the article; "Note also that in introducing Meacham at the top of the show, Mika failed to mention Meacham's role as an occasional Biden speechwriter. She described him only as a "presidential historian." Shouldn't that be disclosed when he's lauding Biden's "immense skill"? "As you'll see in the screencap, the deception extended to his billing in the screen graphic."
